Don't get me wrong, this product is great for keeping your house nice and clean. Just please watch out for your clothes. My son has had these for quite sometime now and I was wondering why his clothes were getting colored. He had purple, red, and blue spots all over his nice white socks and tshirts, I even found my grey shirt had purple on it. We have nothing else but these. So I decided I was going to try something, I drew a flower on an old shirt and washed it. I can not tell you how upset I got when that flower was there in PURPLE the color I had used. This is the only downfall to the product that I have noticed. And we have the markers and fingerpaints. I continue to use them because I dont want my house in a rainbow of colors but our clothes take the brut of it all.

I know my daughter is a little on the young side, but she loves using the markers on the special paper and coloring book just to scribble, especially when I am cooking dinner. She does ask to color at least several times a week. She loves the fingerpaints too! You just have to watch your toddler that they don't dig into the paint. That is the only reason I gave a 4* on durablity, if I had been paying better attention and check on her this might not have happened. Then again, it was only a matter of time especially since she is a 2 year old and is in the 2 year old stage of exploring, touching, squishing, scribbling and just doing her "job" of being a 2 year old!
One really cool thing is that I was never able to have my daughter sit still or hold her hand still love enough to get a handprint that wasn't smudged. Well, one afternoon while Mama and daughter where painting I thought I'd try and see if I could use the red fingerpaint and cover her hand and then see how if it would work? I was so excited that it did work! You have to make sure you push each individual finger down, but for the 1st time I was able to get a clear and very detailed print of my daughters hand!

I bought this item for my 4 year old son for Christmas. He uses this almost every day. I bought him more for Valentines Day. This has provided hours and hours of fun for him. He thinks he is staying in the lines, but by him thinking this he concentrates on staying in the lines with everything he colors. And for parents, well, you don't have to worry about clothes, furniture, or walls being marked on. This is a must for every pre-school child.

My daughter and I love to color together. She seemed to always end up with marker all over her hands so we tried Color Wonder. Loved them, we had a great time and, "Look Mommi, clean hands!" BUT....the next day I discovered that there was a lump under the table cloth and low and behold it was a Color Wonder marker. No big deal...except that two days later my brand new dining room table had a spot on it the size of a silver dollar. Not a spot that could be removed, but a spot that had actually removed the top-coat, stain, and absored into the wood. Whatever the markers are made out of are just as potent at paint thinner on wood surfaces. We still love our Color Wonder markers, we just never use them on the furniture anymore and are always sure that we've accounted for all of them when we put them away.

Apparently "F. Albritton" has never had her toddler paint with real finger paint otherwise she would know that (1)-Fingerpaint takes a VERY long time to dry and makes for one heck of a mess. (One she must not have ever witnessed.) (2)-Not supervising a toddler with any kind of art material is a bad idea. Really-Take it from a lady who was given the haircut of a lifetime by a playmate in preschool, then, thirty years later, had to have the steam cleaners remove red "washable" Crayola crayon from a cream-colored wing chair thanks to one of her two resident artists. (Those who know it was there can still see a hint of pink in spite of the steamer and worker's efforts)
One more point - Had her child been using real paint, she could just as easily have gotten that in her eyes or mouth. I know that there are times when you have to step away. However, if you are going to let your toddler paint,(color wonder or traditional) you should be sure you have an empty bladder and that there is nothing on the stove, in the oven, or anywhere else that might call you away. Next, grab your cordless phone, a roll of paper towels, wipes, and any other cleaning items you might need. Are you thirsty? Grab a drink too(Iced tea, water with lemon, a soft drink, a vodka tonic...) then cover the child's cloths and your own, lay newspaper on the floor, chairs, tabletop, set everything up, and FINALLY settle your self down to create WITH your child. Sound extreme? Yeah...but even with all of these precautions, there's no guarentee with toddlers and paint.

I bought these "paints" for my 3 year old son for Christmas. While the concept is pretty cool-- (invisible paints that turn colors once applied to Color Wonder paper), I thought it was a little difficult to work with. For one, the color doesn't appear immediately. Kind of like a Poloroid, it takes a couple of minutes to actually develop. Which I don't have a problem with, but try explaining that to a little one. We waited and waited and waited and FINALLY got some results, but even then, it wasn't what was expected. Who knows? Maybe we just have to get used to working with them.

My three year old grandson and I have spent many hours coloring, finger painting and writing with Crayola Color products. They're great because they work only on the "magic" paper - no mess, no stress. It's all fun!

You don't mind NOT keeping your child's artwork. I noticed that the colors slowly fade over some months. I prefer to keep all my children's art, so I use real paint and just keep them naked to paint. Of course, my chairs haven't been so lucky, but that's a small price to pay for being able to keep my children's wonderful paintings.
By the way, my kids are 2 1/2 and 1 1/2.

I bought my daughter these markers and fingerpaints after scrubbing crayon/marker lines off the wall one too many times. So far we've been very pleased. There's a good variety of colors of markers available and lots of different books/pads to choose from. She loves coloring pictures for grandma's fridge and I like that I don't have to search for colors on my walls.
The fingerpaints are rather soft and it's easy to get too much on a little one's fingers if they're not careful. You just have to show them how to carefully (and gently) rub their fingers across the top of the paint color rather than digging in. Also it does take a few seconds for the color to appear on the paper after it's been applied, so that takes a little getting used to. These are also great for in the car, or when visting someplace where you don't want a mess. My biggest complaint is that the sets are little pricey, but Toys 'R Us seems to have BOGO sales every 3 or 4 months and I stock up then. Overall we're very pleased with these sets and they make a nice addition to our crayon and marker collection.
