4.0 out of 5 stars Just what my daughter needed!!!
Being a single mother and working 40 + hours a week doesn't always allow me the time I would like to take to make sure the games I buy for my daughter are 'right' for her. I was depending on the Crayola name and it worked flawlessly! The game is very entertaining and I find my self 'hoping' that my daughter gets stuck in a particular area so that I can 'figure' it out for...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as easy or as fun as I had hoped
I got this for my 8 year old daughter who loves to draw. We found it a bit frustrating at first. She had trouble climbing up slopes, and then we realized she was using the wrong color crayon. The game seems to move along pretty fast, your character keeps moving until you redirect him/her. Too often my kid wasn't fast enough to draw something and would lose the chance...

I got this for my 8 year old daughter who loves to draw. We found it a bit frustrating at first. She had trouble climbing up slopes, and then we realized she was using the wrong color crayon. The game seems to move along pretty fast, your character keeps moving until you redirect him/her. Too often my kid wasn't fast enough to draw something and would lose the chance to get her bonus items. She shut the game off in frustration a few times. I then asked her if she could just go to the drawing section of the game and she said she hadn't earned that yet. I haven't confirmed if you really have to earn the coloring/drawing section, but my older daughter played around with the game, and I think if it was available she would have found it. Thank goodness I got a decent deal on the game, if I would have paid full price, I would not have been happy.
All in all, if I could go back in time, I would pass on this one. Instead my kids just got Sims Kingdom, and they have really been into that one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Crayola + Lemmings = Disappointment, December 26, 2009

I should have more closely read some of the reviews for this product. We purchased this game for a 3 year old boy thinking this would have some age appropriate games (the artwork and crayola marketing seemed to indicate that would be the case - it even touted coloring pages). Unfortunately that's not what this game is.

The basic premise sounds good enough... the story character has been sucked into a crayola book where evil goblins are "gobbling up" all the colors. Fillup (or Violet) travel mindlessly through the world (you don't control them except to draw objects to impede their progress or help them over an obstacles). Using a palette of 4 crayons that each possess a different property you draw shapes in the air that form planes the characters can travel across to recover the crayons that have been hidden throughout the world and make it safely to the exit. The game play is a lot like the popular computer game series Lemmings - though the puzzles and the options for solutions are a lot less interesting. In my opinion, for what it's worth, this game would be most appropriate for children from about 7 - 10 but not intended for children much younger than that (despite the package) and honestly not interesting enough to keep kids much older involved.

If you like Lemmings you MAY enjoy this game. Then again, if you really like the Lemmings games you may want to forgo this purchase and wait for the "real" thing. Overall 2 stars.

I was depending on the Crayola name and it worked flawlessly! The game is very entertaining and I find my self 'hoping' that my daughter gets stuck in a particular area so that I can 'figure' it out for her! I think I enjoy this game as much as she does. Great graphics, and the using the Wii remote is not too hard to use either! We really enjoyed it and Crayola comes through with another great one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for young children, May 17, 2010

I bought this game thinking it would be great for my four year old who loves the Wii. I turned out to be way beyond his level of play. I have have managed to beat most of it on easy (at the insistence of the four year old), but I'm not sure how anyone under the age of ten could. The character moves to quickly and it is difficult to find the objects you need. Even the coloring pages you can unlock are too difficult for my son.

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE game, May 6, 2010

My kids are pretty good at Wii (they have mastered Mario Brothers, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, etc.), but they weren't able to do this game without help. I tried to help them, but I even got frustrated with it. The pointer doesn't hold steady enough for you to really draw. The game boasts coloring pages, but you have to unlock those, and we haven't been able to even after days and days of work. I think we're going to take this one to our local game trader and get something more interesting. Save your money and skip this game!

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT A KID FRIENDLY GAME-Do Not Waste your money., January 17, 2010

If I could give this a zero I would. I bought this for my 3 year old who can whiz through other games. Even on Beginner mode she can't keep up and I even have a hard time. I don't see her liking or being about to play this game for a long time. By the time she could play it i doubt she'd like it as it's just not fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars too challenging to be for everyone, December 24, 2009
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Crayola Colorful Journey (Video Game)
This game moves a little too fast to select appropriate color (each color has different properties) and draw ahead of the character, and the character keeps moving unless you draw an obstacle with the right color at the right time. Then the screen stays with the character so that drawing something where you need a ramp or bridge is difficult. Too often, the color selection tool in the lower left corner of the screen prevents drawing in desired location. It would be better in upper left corner, perhaps. Frustrating even for me. Kids (4 and 8)quickly got bored. Not fun.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good premise, very hard to play, February 9, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Crayola Colorful Journey (Video Game)
The way that the game is played, you draw shapes to control where the character can go. You draw a bridge for them to walk over, or an obstacle to make them go back the other way, or allow them to climb over. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get the shapes right and you end up trapping your player. I had purchased this for my daughter and I cannot even get it to work.

Unfortunately, we bought this game as a way to include our oldest daughter in playing the Wii with my husband and I. She is 4 1/2 years old and can manage the Wii Sports Resort games better than this game. It takes forever to get through one level because you really have no control over your character.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit difficult!, January 2, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Crayola Colorful Journey (Video Game)
My husband got this for our 3 year old daughter who has a Crayola game for her DS which she is able to use easily. The only thing she could do somewhat on this is the coloring book and got bored with that fast. I tried this game and even I found it difficult. If you could control when the girl walks it would have been a little bit better(for me anyhow). I think my husband and I just expected it to be a little bit more like the game she has for DS and was disappointed when it was geared for older kids.
