Fabulous toy and Crayola has great customer service. My children love doodling and now writing on this toy. But, don't make the mistake of using other dry erase brand markers on this surface though as you may find that it does not want to come off! I made this mistake as I could not find these markers at a store (as another reviewer mentioned, these markers are difficult to find.) We used an Expo dry erase and another brand that I had bought from Target and they did not come off. We tried dish soap and rubbing alcohol and a lot of elbow grease. Then I read on the internet that someone suggested draw over the area that you want to erase and erase immediately. What worked for us ultimately is drawing over the lines that would not erase with a newish Crayola dry erase marker, one that had lots of ink in it, and then using the eraser to wipe it off. We had to do this many times before the other dry erase lines were removed. Now you can't see the lines anymore. We found that you can use the Crayola dry erase markers on this product and other true dry erase boards but you can't use other brand markers on this plastic surface - the ink is absorbed into the plastic.

I have a K-5 little girl that LOVES it! We got it to help with her handwriting which it did but then realized that the cards they give you are standard paper size. Now we use it to slip in practice sheets like math, telling time, etc. FANTASTIC learning tool!

Bought this for my 2 year old son for a church activity. He LOVES it. It is really great that he can use it on his own for coloring and when he is a bit older will be a great tool to learn the alphabet. Seems quite durable so far.Update: It didn't take too long before the plastic stopped erasing. Now there are permanent marks on it - even though only dry erase markers have been used.

Our preschool daughter LOVES this activity center so much and it will surely help develop her writing skills. Just don't use dry erase cleaner on this...we did and now have to buy a new one because it trashed the screen.

In spite of other reviews indicating that this does not erase well, I purchased this thinking that if I followed the recommendation to use only the Crayola brand dry-erase markers, we would be fine. It is VERY difficult to erase. I had more trust of the Crayola brand prior to purchasing this product. We have TONS of Crayola products, but this one was a disappointment.

I ordered this for my 4 year old daughter, and then ordered 4 more to give as birthday gifts. The activity center is perfect for quiet time at home, in the car, or at a sibling's athletic game. It allows them to practice all sorts of things (letters, numbers) and also has a blank page so they can practice free drawing. Just make sure to clear the board completely each time. If the marker sits on it for too long, it is hard to get off.

My 5 year old son was about to start Kindergarten this fall, he's a bright kid, but did not want to learn to write or spell, ec. He'd rather run around and play than work on his letters. Who can blame him! I ordered this item, it came, and from day one he took to it like no other toy he's ever owned. Literally within a week he was writing all of his letters, and a little while later all of his numbers. He started kindergarten with a month's worth of playing on this writing board. I know it has helped him tremendously. I think kids at first dont want to learn things out of lack of confidence in their abilities. This educational toy gave my son a sense of accomplishment. Every time he fills the letters in he beams with pride. He always wants to work on this thing, even when the television is on. We write at breakfast, after school, and sometimes in bed at night. I'm ordering a second one just to have as backup. It's that worthy. Cheers.

2 day life on the markers,

My granddaughter used this toy for less than 2 days and already the markers are dried out. This is without leaving the cap off for long periods of time and with closing them properly. I am very disappointed in the short life of the markers. The toy itself is great in concept and I can see that she is very interested in it but if the markers work for 2 days, how long can a child stay interested?

My kids reading tutor would bring this over for lessons and my kids both loved it.I bought one for each of my kids and at night we do all of our lessons on it. It has many different base papers to choose from so you can do the alphabet, numbers, or just a plain paper for doodling and such. It's my stock gift for the younger crowd... I give it to many 4-5 year olds.

My daughter got this as a gift for her 5th birthday and LOVES it. She writes on it everyday. Even though she already knows her alphabet and numbers, this helps her to get the practice she needs and has fun while doing it. She has learned to write her name perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone with a pre-K or Kindergarten age child.
