We've only had it for one day and it has withstood my 2-year-old climbing around and underneath it (because he thinks everything is a piece of playground equipment). The reason for this review is to let people know that in order to make the art trays stay on the easel (several people have complained that they easily fall off), you have to reach behind (inside) the easel and snap them on. You don't just sit them on; they snap in place. Do this and they won't keep falling off. : )

My son received this item as a gift for his 3rd birthday. He absolutely loves it! He already loved to color, draw, and write his letters. This toy gave him a new forum in which to do that, and I can't pull him away from it. It's a mommy dream come true as well. It took a whole 30 seconds to set up. God bless crayola for keeping out the excessive packaging, those insane metal twist ties, and any screws or bolts to assemble. The whole item just pops into place. It's easy to store too as it collapses flat.

Bad tray design!,
I bought this easel for my toddler because of Crayola's good reputation and attractiveness of this easel, but I was disappointed.PROS: 1) Easy to assemble, 2) Comes with magnetic letters and numbers, 3) Nice hooks to hang drawing paper, and 4) Sturdy plastic construction with rounded edges CONS: 1) The 4 trays that are supposed to hold the magnets, drawing supplies, and paints fall off ALL THE TIME! The plastic parts that are supposed to keep the trays in place are very poorly designed and any time my child leans on them or accidentally bumps the easel, as toddlers often do, they would come crashing down. I tried double sticky tape for carpets which only worked temporarily, and finally resorted to velcro-ing the trays down. 2) No drawing supplies came with this unit - only magnets. So, be prepared to buy chalk, erase board markers, paper and crayons when you buy this easel or else your child will be disappointed that he/she cannot draw right away.

I bought this for my daughter at Toys R Us and paid $34.99 for it. It is worth every penny. I would NEVER pay $89.99 for it. Not only is that highway robbery but even though I have no complaints about the easel, it is not worth $89.99. To be aware of: the paper pad clip at the top of the easel doesn't hold paper pads very well and the magnetic letters that come with it are kind of small. Other than that, it worth the $34.99, but not $89.99. Suggestion for the paper pad problem, I hung a roll of paper from the top of the easel with a cord and it has worked out great for my daughter.

Purchased this easil for my twins after looking at many different makers. I needed a double sided easil with clips and trays on both sides so that both my toddlers could use it at the same time. I loved the ample trays on each side and have had no problem of them falling off. I love the paper clip on each side and that it comes with magnetic letters and an eraser, you just have to provide the paint, chalk and dry erase markers. I love that it's light weight so that I have no problem closing it up and storing it away, it even has hand grips on each side for easy carrying. I've even put a blanket over it and my twins have used it as a fort or pretended it's a school bus. Great little easil for the price (other brands sell for much more and cheaper ones fall apart) and I would highly recommend it.

I have several easels. I host toddler art days at my house once a week. The clips on this easel aren't strong enough to actually HOLD paper :-( Also, the chalk board on the one I have doesn't really work. The chalk just slips across without drawing. It's kinda a slick (but textured) plastic surface not regular chalk board material. I DO NOT recommend this easel.

My two year old is a budding artist. He loves to color and draw. I chose this easel because two can use it at the same time without bumping into one another, and it was much cheaper than the price here at Toys R Us. It was pretty much ready to go right out of the box. We have had no problems with the trays. My 10 month old uses them to help him stand. The letters that come with the easel are ridiculously small. They're a joke. I don't know what age they think those would be good for. I have seen bigger, better magnets at the Dollar Store. But I didn't buy this for the magnets. Once we primed the chalk board, we had no problems wiping it clean or writing on it. The white board cleans easily. And since we purchased the Melissa & Doug magnets and already had some magnetic Leap Frog stuff, both my boys love to play with all the magnets on the white board. It's nice to have them both playing happily with a toy that doesn't require batteries. I love this toy!

This is a nice easel for your future Picasso to get started with. Out of the box it literally takes seconds to have it fully assembled, it was extremely easy. It seems very study and serves its purpose well. My son was even crawling underneath and hanging on it a little and it holds up well. No chalk or anything except some letters are included so if you give this as a present you might want to include some supplies as well. Price wise this can be had on sale for around $35. I wouldn't pay over $45 for it.
