Art projects, though universally popular with parents and kids alike, sometimes get to be a bit of a resource issue. Pens run out of ink, paper gets used up and needs to be replaced, sometimes in heavy volumes, and the whole enterprise can get to be more than a bit messy from time to time. The folks at Crayola, who know a thing or two about art projects for kids, have created a much simpler solution with this user-friendly unit that looks a little bit like a cross between a gigantic microscope and an overhead projector. Project any of the 70 included images on the magnetic surface and then trace them using the attached magnetic stylus. My daughter received this for her third birthday from her Grandpa and while it's a great concept and I think she would really like it, it doesn't really work. Erasing each drawing is nearly impossible, and it bothers me enough that I know it will bother her to be unable to erase old drawings and start new. So we're returning it for something else.

My child received this for her 4th birthday. The concept is a good one, but the "eraser bar" doesn't erase very well. I have to slide it back and forth a dozen times, and it still doesn't completely clear the screen. My child doesn't mind it, but it sure bugs me!

my son just turned 6 and he really likes this toy. I can see him getting over the disks pretty fast though. I would like to purchase refill disks, but alas there are none. As the mom ahead of me said, the eraser bar leaves a lot to be desired
