Great kids keyboard,

This review is from: Crayola USB EZ Type Keyboard (Personal Computers)
I bought this keyboard so that my 15 month old daughter would be able to use the keyboard without hitting a bunch of function keys causing disk drives to eject & other screens to pop up. It has fullfilled that purpose. The keys are large but it makes the letters easier to see for my kids. We just plugged it in & started using it. No software needed. This is a great basic keyboard with no fancy frills which is exactly what I was looking for.

I usually hate it when someone reviews a product when they first get it, but I just received this keyboard and felt compelled to report my first impressions. I am building a computer for my 1.5 year old grandson and I was looking for a simplified keyboard for him to use. This seems to fit the bill, but it has some issues.
First, the thing is really BIG. It is nearly as wide as my full size Microsoft natural 4000. The keys are also really BIG; like more than twice the size if normal keys. Although it has a QWERTY layout, the keys line up right under each other, which is different than a normal keyboard. The ";" key which is normally under your right little finger has moved, and the whole bottom row of keys is effectively shifted to the right one key. (examine the picture closely to see what I mean). The bottom line of all this is you can't touch type on it easily, which would have been difficult anyway given the huge size of the keys. I don't expect my grandson to be touch typing anytime soon, so it shouldn't be a problem for me, but it would be for older kids who are trying to learn to type.

Poor customer service,

This is not actually a Crayola product, it's made by a partner named Sakar. My keyboard arrived dead, I contacted Sakar and they indicated it would take 4 weeks to ship a replacement. Crayola won't even talk to you about this product they just send you to Sakar. The service and quality do not live up to the Crayola name.
