The pen is complete garbage but the paper is great for fountain pens!
on October 19, 2013
I bought two of these a couple years ago when I was in a pinch and didn't have time to run home and get my cheapie spiral bound notebook. Toys-r-us was the only store along the way from work to my college, and my college's bookstore closes freaking early.
Anyway, so the paper on these looked like the most grown-up things I could turn in if need be(1st day of class).
I thought it was pretty neat, the pens weren't the greatest quality but they worked. In fact, I used them rather hardcore!
Then the pens dried up soon after(about a month after) so booo!
Then a few months ago I got into Fountain pens again. Well I have been on the HUNT for a good notebook+paper that doesn't bleed through or shadow like NUTS. Then last night I pulled this old book off my shelf and wrote down a quick note with my Cross pen. I realized the paper was heavy-ish, about the thickness of a paper I've been desiring in a notebook! The notebook works rather well. As a left-hander I dislike the spiral bound, but I can just take pages out as I use them(they remove rather nicely!).
That said, the pens that come standard with this book ONLY work with this notebook, and the paper is probably covered in some sort of chemical to make it kid friendly(not marking the walls).
I wish Crayola sold bottles of the special ink, however. I would LOVE to use this with a fountain pen, omg *squeegasm*
