There just have been so many acts who've done cover songs the past year. From Styx with a remake of The Beatles I Am The Walrus to Britney Spears pulling a horrific rendition of Bobby Brown's My Perogative. Now Alanis Morissette tries to pull the tables out, and she actually does deliver. Her remake of Seal's Crazy, from her recently released The Collection hits package is a very well conjured edition to this early 90's classic. Not many people have tried at all to record a cover of a classic by Seal, and Alanis isn't crazy to do it. This is a great song, and one cover that hits the nail on the head. I hope she can keep doing some more great covers like this.

Alanis is back with a brand new sound -- her old style with a bunch of euro sounding synthesizers thrown into it. I personally love this new mix of Seal's "crazy." Seal's version is weak -- his vocals are nothing in compared to Alanis's vibrant voice. This song is a must have (also available on her greatest hits cd).

I was looking for the version which appears on the soundtrack of The Devil Wears Prada. This is NOT the right version. Remixes and club versions are not my thing, so unfortunately since Amazon did not have a "Listen to samples" on this listing, I bought blindly. Big disappointment if you are looking for the the version which got airplay. I'm off to buy the soundtrack to Prada now.
