5.0 out of 5 stars Being Cool Has Never Been So HOT!
This is the first time I've read anything penned by Ms. Janzen and it won't be the last. She has penned a sexy contemporary that will leave the reader looking for her backlist.

Katya Dekker is trying to get her Denver art gallery off to a grand start. She plans to do this through an art auction...but then she catches the sight of someone from her past and...

2.0 out of 5 stars overly love stories
The thrilling part of the book it's fairly OK and almost a page turner. But then in the middle of the book start the main sexy love story and when you finish that 50 pages or so and you'll think that the thrilling part is going to begin... Guess what, you'll start a second love story of another 50 pages. So you'll forget about the main plot after you read those loves...

This is the first time I've read anything penned by Ms. Janzen and it won't be the last. She has penned a sexy contemporary that will leave the reader looking for her backlist.

Katya Dekker is trying to get her Denver art gallery off to a grand start. She plans to do this through an art auction...but then she catches the sight of someone from her past and she is set back thirteen years to the one man she wished she had had the courage to hold on to. Christian Hawkins.

Thirteen years earlier Christian played the rescuer to Kat damsel in distress. This of course leads to a month that neither of them is going to be able to forget...and Christian is going to go to jail for a murder he did not commit. Now years later he has been called to protect the one woman that has ever touched his heart. Will he be able to stay detached or will the chemistry that burned between them catch them unaware? They will have to figure this out while trying to stay one step ahead of blackmailer who wants Christian out of the picture for good.

This is a very complex book. Ms. Janzen has laid the groundwork for future stories while still penning a hot and engaging story. Christian is yummy and a total Alpha male that is a wonderful character and Kat is his match. I can't wait for the next in the series and highly recommend Ms. Janzen.

5.0 out of 5 stars anticipation is killer, November 9, 2005

I stumbled onto Crazy Hot last week and by the weekend, I knew I had to get Crazy Cool too! I really like the way the author gives everyone's perspectives in the books. All the names seem confusing and complex when you start reading Crazy Cool, especially if you haven't read Crazy Hot first, but after chapter 2, you just get sucked into the intricate plots that are boiling and see how they all are linked together.

I can't wait to see what else happens with the Steele Street gang - some vengeance, a lot of love? I hope that they give Quinn and Robin more of a part in the series - I love the way they were in Crazy Hot. I also hope that Superman and Kat have a part in the stories too. Hookups I'm waiting to see: Skeeter & Travis the "Wonder Boy", and Kid Chaos & Nikki staying together and maybe finding her parents - you can just feel the emotions pouring out of the pages from these people.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Crazy book - on my keeper shelf!, April 10, 2007
This review is from: Crazy Cool (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved loved loved this book!

Christian Hawkins (aka Superman - all the male heroes in this series have a nickname) went to jail 13 years ago for a murder he didn't commit. He feels that he wouldn't have gone to jail if only Katya Dekker would have spoken up in his defense. Though he got out of jail after 2 years, he's never forgotten nor forgiven her.

Katya Dekker went through her own hell after Christian Hawkins went to jail. She feels incredibly sorry for what Christian went through and feels as though she failed him.

After living in California, Katya Dekker has recently moved back to Denver and has opened an art gallery. She's at an art auction where Christian Hawkins, along with Dylan Hart (another male hero who has his story told in Book 5 - Crazy Love), have been mysteriously assigned to be the security detail. Trouble starts and Christian rushes to save Katya. What happens next is the tale of how these two get back together and resolve their issues and the past.

The chemistry between these two characters is hot! And I loved reading each character's points of view. What can I say - I love those tortured male characters who are fighting their feelings!

Give yourself some time to read this book (and this series). Once you start, these books will pull you in and you'll find that you can't stop with just one book. And be sure to read Book 1 first (Crazy Hot) before reading Crazy Cool - it helps to explain the characters and a subplot that's in this book (Kid chaos and Nikki story) makes much more sense.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mad Love for Crazy Cool!!, July 20, 2009
This review is from: Crazy Cool (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book! I started reading out of order starting with Crazy Sweet (which I also loved.) When I went back to the beginning and read Crazy Hot, I thought it was just ok, mainly for the background info and introduction/explanation of some of the characters. Luckily, I had Crazy Cool on hand to delve right into after Crazy Hot. Now this book is where the series REALLY hits its stride, in my opinion! Ms. Janzen's core characters are always so well defined, you feel like you know them.

Christian Hawkins, aka Superman, whom we first met in Crazy Hot; is a sexy, fiercely loyal, self-made modern day hero from the streets of Denver. He sports a cool tatt rather than a cape and wouldn't be caught dead in tights! Though, like any worthy super-hero, Christian has his demons and a major weakness in the form of a sultry little green-eyed blonde blast from his past who haunts and taunts him. Throw in unresolved lust, greed, jealousy, politics and mix with an old murder case; shake well and there you have one Crazy Cool thrill ride!

As Ms. Janzen always generously intertwines at least two (sometimes three) stories in a book, we also see the return of Kid Chaos as his and Nikki's story progresses along with glimpses of the mis-education of her favorite angel, Travis James. All of these elements combine to make this one of the best installments in this series and one I've read over and over again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the first...., October 22, 2007

Okay, I'm going to try to not gush.....this book was amazing. I loved it, loved it, loved it. I really don't know where to start. I'd like to say "JUST BUY IT AND READ IT FOR HEAVENS SAKE", but I'll try to give a few reasons why you should.

First off, this book is second in the "crazy" series. A series about a group of top notch special force operatives. All these men, (and "woman", I won't spoil it with any more info) are just larger than life, sexy, brave, talented soldiers and are all stuff that dreams are made of. I loved Crazy Hot, but I think Crazy Cool is even better.

Katya and Christian are a couple that you soon will not forget. They have a past, in fact, Christian was falsely accused of murder and imprisoned after protecting her when they were younger. Now fate has brought them back together and this is their story. This is a story of mystery, revenge, and of deep enduring passion. It is a page turner and one that I finished in no time flat.

We also catch up with Kid and Nikki in this book, (the secondary couple in Crazy Hot), and again they steal the show. They alone are worth the price of admission and I can't wait until they get their own book. The steam leaps off the pages whenever they are on them.

If your looking for mystery..this book will satisfy, if you're looking for passion and romance, this book will blow your mind. It's just that good. I will read this whole series...probably again and again. Do not hesitate. Buy this book now. Wait. You might as well but the whole darn series. If you're like me, your only regret will be if you don't have the next book in the series on hand to start after you finish reading this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Fun Read, September 13, 2007

This book is a wonderfully exciting, fun, fast-paced mystery/romance/erotic novel. I loved it from start to finish and it is my favorite in the 'Crazy' series. I've devoured each one at least twice. And this one I've read 5 times.

Tara Janzen's books have wonderful continuity and suspense to them that keeps you coming back for more. She has a way of creating delightful characters that pull you in. You can feel the sexual tension between the couples and your heart races with the action scenes.

I've had a hard tiem finding romance that doesn't involve some kind of paranormal element. I do not like getting into a good read and discovering one of the characters is a time traveller or werewolf.

I whole~heartedly suggest you read her 'Crazy' series, begining with Crazy Hot. Tara IS my new favorite author!!!

A friend has been bugging me forever to read this author because I would LOVE her books. This is the first title I picked up from Ms. Janzen, and I'm soooo glad that I did. The entire Crazy series from Tara Janzen is fabulous if you like to revisit characters from book to book. This is the second book in the series and wow! Ms. Janzen has a way of drawing you into the characters and wanting to know where they are going to be next. Plus doesn't every romance novel enthusiast want to read about hunky masculine tough guys that have a soft spot for one woman? Duh! It's what you are looking for when reading romance novels and Tara Janzen has it down pat! Enjoy the book and definitely read all the others!

5.0 out of 5 stars fun but crazy romantic suspense thriller, October 25, 2005
This review is from: Crazy Cool (Mass Market Paperback)
With two of his operative teammates in deep trouble in Columbia South America and needing immediate rescue, Christian Hawkins is shocked when his superior yanks him from the mission to attend a state-side auction gala. He has no idea who he is to protect and from whom. However he quickly notices that the highest ranked civilian is his personal nightmare, Katya Dekker, daughter of a US senator, his former teenage lover, and the female who watched while he was imprisoned for two years on false charges.

An explosion occurs leading to chaos, but the undercover agent responds instantly and gets Katya out of there, but Ted Garraty, whose testimony convicted Christian thirteen years ago is dead. Evidence points towards Christian avenging what Ted did to him, but this time he refuses to be railroaded into prison again for a crime he did not commit and he has the skills now to prove his innocence. Still he needs time and Katya's cooperation to clear himself of a murder rap before running as far away from her as possible. However to his chagrin he still wants the woman he believes betrayed him.

The second Crazy romantic suspense thriller (see CRAZY HOT) is an exhilarating tale that never slows down from the moment that all hell breaks loose at the auction event. The story line focuses on Christian's efforts assisted by Katya to prove he is innocent, but in some ways is driven by the unwanted sexual tension between these two. Fans will enjoy this wild ride and look forward to the third teammate's tale shortly.
