A Keeper,
By Lit Lover (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crazy Eights (Paperback)
I read this book for the first time when I was probably 9 years old, and it made an indelible mark on me. I still have the same copy, read and reread countless times. I'm now 33 years old, and I intend to read it again. For those pre-teens, teens, 20-somethings and beyond, it tells a story of how to reach beyond what life throws at you, even when it all seems pointless. It isn't a "feel good" story, but rather a journey into finding how to make yourself happy. If anyone has struggled with identity, pain, depression, or loneliness, or had siblings or friends who have, this book will help you see things from that side of the coin, and give you an appreciation for the simplest blessings in life.

Really Enjoyed!,
By Sophia (Boulder, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crazy Eights (Paperback)
I really liked this book. I read it this year, at age 13 (don't tell anyone)all most 14, and it really made a mark. It told me that my life wasn't bad and, even though there may be a lot of drama in it, there are other people that have many more problems than drama in their's. I told some of my friends about this book and they all loved it as much as I did. This book really stood out to me from all the books I've read and I really enjoyed Crazy Eights. Thank you for writing it.

Crazy Eights is Amazing!,

I loved this book because it was so honest and truthful. It made me feel real. I enjoyed it and would recommend this to young adults and teens stuggling with an identity crisis.

The only book I have read multiple times,
This review is from: Crazy Eights (Hardcover)
I first read this book when I was in 5th or 6th grade...20 years ago. It was the first book which "hit me", that touched me. It is also the only book I would go back to the library to check out year after year, the only book I have read over and over. The fact I remember the title 20 years later says something. It has to have been at least 14 or 15 years since I last read it...I plan on purchasing it so I can enjoy it again. A story written in 1978 which still resonates today, simply beautiful.
