I don't have the words...,

...so perhaps the author will lend me a thesaurus. Hopefully not the one she used while writing this much too long, and ridiculous story. In almost every paragraph there is at least one word that is just not quite right. Repeated misuse of adjectives and adverbs. It could be an overuse of the synonym lookup function of her word processing program in the interests of attempting to sound more educated...she uses two multi-syllabic words when one word of one syllable would do. This story would have benefitted from agressive editing by someone who had received a passing score on the English word usage section of the SATs.
None of the characters' behaviors seemed at all justified by the reasons the author detailed. ****SPOILERS**** The main female character is supposed to (I think - not really made clear) be a gentle, dreamy woman who has a mental illness that causes her to detach from reality, but she actually comes across as stupid, just plain old dumb. But then we're supposed to believe that this dummy escapes from the abusive boyfriend's clutches, hides from him and while in hiding finishes a novel that becomes a best seller, sells the film rights, assists in writing the screenplay, gives birth, stars in the movie (under a stage name so the boyfriend can't find her (????!!!)), wins an Oscar (while still hiding from the boyfriend under the assumed name!), writes a second movie AND the screenplay, stars in that, is nominated for another Oscar...PHEW! I'm exhausted...and SHE accomplishes all this in a short little 4 year period...****SPOILER END*** Either the author was very young when this was written or lack of research are the only two explanation for murky character motivation and the inaccuracies of so much of the reporting of medical and legal situations, the publishing world, film making, etc. And as for it chronicling the drug culture of bands and touring in the 80's, it reads more like a get together of high schoolers who smoke a little weed rather than hard core rock band a looking for their next fix. I won't go on. Suffice it to say that if you're interested in reading something a little more believable (and well written) about the time period and band touring in the 80's, give a try to Kathleen Giles Seidel's "Till the Stars Fall". It's a lovely story and beautifully written.

Loved it! Loved it!,
This review is from: Crazy For You (Kindle Edition)
I just finished Crazy for You. I loved this book. I read a lot of romance books. Most of them keep me interested while I am reading, but are quickly forgotten. I can't remember the last time I connected with a character like Roxanne. I was rooting for her right from the start. I cried! I haven't cried while reading a book in forever. This story of Frank and Roxie really touched me. I want to read it again and that's something I never do. I can't wait for Sandra Edward's next book. Keep them coming.

A waste of time and money,

This is my first review of anything ever. This book was SO bad, I felt compelled to write this review if for no other reason than to warn off others considering wasting their time and/or money for this piece of junk. I kept reading this book hoping it would get better. After all, it was a published work and had received some great reviews. The plot was trite, the characters were one-dimensional, and it reads like it was written by a twelve year old Catholic schoolgirl. I've never read a so-called romance novel with descriptions of passion like "they made love" or "he kissed her." That's it. Nothing more to say. My dead grandmother could come up with something spicier than that! Bottom-line: It's just awful. Don't bother.

I rarely write reviews (good or bad), but this story was so awful that I wanted to warn others. I read 15% of the story and thought it had to get better at some point. At 25% I just had to call it a lost cause...after I took the pencil that I jammed into my temple out. The story line is terrible and the characters development is WEAK and going from bad to worse. I'm not going to drone on about this book, but with the 1000s and 1000s of other book options, do not waste your time on this one.

READ THIS BOOK & FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! IT WAS SO WELL WRITTEN YOU CAN GET LOST IN THE STORY. ONCE I STARTED READING IT I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. I LAUGHED & CRIED "HARD" BECAUSE I CAN RELATE TO THE STORY. I TOLD ALL MY GIRLFRIENDS WHAT A GREAT FIND IT WAS & HOW IT'S NOT THE SAME OLD BORING ROMANCE NOVEL YOU WOULD BE USED TO. (A MUST READ) TRULY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL BUT IN THE MEAN TIME I WILL BE BUSY READING HER OTHER FABULOUS BOOKS ;)
KEEP THEM COMING MS. SANDRA EDWARDS YOU HAVE A TRUE FAN HERE! <3 *AMY E.*

Just awful,
This review is from: Crazy For You (Kindle Edition)
I kept reading this because I thought surely it would get better....no such luck. Completely unrealistic and downright awful. Roxanne is the weakest lead character ever - I just hated her. She becomes a hooker, hooked on drugs, then attempts suicide which would leave her young son motherless - all because she's overwhelmed by love for a guy that isn't worth it in the first place. Just disgusting. Of course there are other things - a friend who has hysterical blindness, a best friend who doesn't stop her friend from repeatedly doing stupid things, a famous actress who never really has to be on set and worst of all a happy ending. This was just a hot mess.
This author should either give me my 99cents back or write something worth reading and send it to my Kindle for FREE! :)

A Powerful Story You Can't Stop Reading,
This review is from: Crazy For You (Kindle Edition)
I loved "Crazy for You," by Sandra Edwards. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Ms. Edwards weaves a gripping tale of Eighties rock n roll, filled with love, sex, drugs, betrayal, and ultimately redemption.
Roxanne Simon is an innocent when she meets and falls in love with struggling musician Frank Garrett. Life takes them on many twists and turns. They hurt each other deeply and are separated during which each becomes famous and wealthy. But they have unfinished business, and a son, a son Frank doesn't know about. When they finally meet again, it's explosive. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. I highly recommend this tale of love, sex and rock n roll.

SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING I read a lot of romance novels, but I couldn't bring myself to finish this one. The female characters are supposed to be strong and independent, but instead they're both weak minded followers who need a man to not only be whole, but to help them with making any sort of rational decision...the main char especially. She is literally too stupid to realize that her boyfriend might not be proud of her for becoming a prostitute when she knows he is a very jealous man. Don't even get me started on the neanderthal leading man. He was nothing but irritating from the start. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who actually respects women OR men. Both genders were represented especially poorly, in my opinion. At least the moronic main characters sort of deserve each other. The secondary couple, who live literally by leeching off the main chars' success are just sort of depressing and pitiful... Overall not a very enjoyable read. I gave up 3/4 of the way through.

I should have stopped reading it right at the beginning, but for some reason followed on through. It is written in a very elementary style, almost adolescent. Although, the topics are definitely adult! The writing is horrible, the story is intriguing, but gets pretty boring and predictable. I wish I hadn't wasted the time to read it, but for some reason didn't quit, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one.

This book was awful. I can't believe people are giving it such good reviews. I stopped a 1/4 of the way through. I tried numerous times to pick it back up and finish, but could never get past a few sentences. The book comes across as being very simple and without any depth. I'm glad it was only $.99.
