If you use a light colored sheet for the cover of your fort you will be fine during the day but any other time and with something heavier, you will need a light source inside for funtime. The lights fit into the holes great and are durable. My 2 & 4 year old repeatedly pushed the buttons on and off and used them in other ways then intended and they are still working just fine. They are not super bright but enough to see by.

Assuming you can get your "Crazy Fort" system to stay together (which my kids cannot without a lot of parent intervention) - these little lights that plug in to the structure are great.

Not very sturdy,

We got these for our 5 year old son since he loves to make caves with his crazy fort set. They are a great idea, but after being dropped on a carpeted floor a few times, they don't work so well. Sometimes the light doesn't come on at all, sometimes it blinks... I would think they would be a little more sturdy for a child's toy.
