Insightful and Moving Poems.,
By Dorothy Josephs "Dorothy Josephs, Critic/Author" (New York City, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crazy Jane - poems (Paperback)
Pat Falk is a writer of insight and skill. "Crazy Jane" her title is ironic as it can be, because this poet is anything but crazy, and that is the point. Falk is playing on the idea of the poet seer, in this case a woman, who sees the world so clearly that others caught in the madness of their cultures cannot see. "My language is my body I am/ very much alive." Falk writes at the end of "What She Knows," and she knows a great deal. Every woman can identify with the urgency in these poems. Falk's poems bear wisdom. "This is a moving read, " says Annie Finch, and she's correct. This book is highy recommended.
