Book Description

Romantic Suspense - Steele Street Series Book #4
"Sultry sex, harrowing adventure, fantastic characters - what more could you ask for?" Fresh Fiction
"High-action plot, savage-but-tender hero, and wonderfully sensuous love scenes..." 4 1/2 Stars TOP PICK Romantic Times

Special Ops soldier Kid Chaos Chronopolous is at the top of a Colombian drug lord’s hit list – with good reason. Under orders and undercover, Kid has been on a mission of revenge, taking out his brother’s murderers and the drug lord’s top lieutenants. Now, broke down and patched up, he’s coming home to Panama City to get out of the line of fire and get some rest. Then he finds a bikini bottom in his bathroom, a familiar scrap of next-to-nothing that can only belong to one woman - his woman, the only woman he's ever loved.

Together, they’re a train wreck, scorching, sultry nights of passion followed by Kid leaving and breaking Nikki McKinney’s heart every time. She’s only come to Panama to say her last goodbye. But Kid’s mission puts her squarely in the crosshairs of the drug lord’s assassins, and when Nikki is captured by Kid's enemies, only his deadliest skills can save her...

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

As the latest of Janzen's Crazy series opens, Kid Chronopolous leaves Colombia, worried that he's lost his artist love, Nicki McKinney, and pursued by a very angry drug lord named Juan Conseco. Luckily, Nicki is waiting for him in Panama, and, despite resolving otherwise, they immediately fall into bed together only to be rousted out and pursued by Conseco's thugs. Barely escaping on a plane to Kid's Special Defense Forces undercover black-ops home in Denver, they make it to Nicki's art-show opening. Kid is upset because Nicki now knows what he does, and she's upset because he won't talk about his feelings. The sex, meanwhile, continues unabated, as does the threat of Conseco's goons. Kid finally manages to propose, and all ends happily in a honeymoon yurt in the Rockies. Besides the satisfying conclusion to Kid and Nicki's story, which began several books ago, the high-action plot, the savage-but-tender hero, and the wonderfully sensuous sex scenes, Janzen's trademarks, make this as much fun as the prior Crazy titles. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Wonderful, Exciting June 26, 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
What do you call a book with a character named Kid Chaos?

GREAT! That's what you call it.

Peter "Kid Chaos" Chronopolous is delicious. This is Kid's book and I loved it. Kid is tall, dark and handsome. The strong and silent type. The perfect Alpha male and in my opinion the perfect hero.

CRAZY KISSES starts off in the Colombian jungle...grabs you...and never lets you go. I felt the sweat rolling off me just as it rolled off Kid. I felt his pain, physical, from a gunshot wound suffered in that same jungle. And emotional, remembering his brother and the love of his life Nicole Alana McKinney.

Nikki's an artist extraordinare with great legs and spiky purple hair. She took me by surprise because she isn't the normal heroine. She's not exceptionally strong, or resourceful or some of the other things I usually think of for a heroine. But she is perfect for Kid. She's beautiful, talented, paints naked angels and has gone to Panama to tell Kid goodbye and find out why he walked out of her life seven months ago. Ah, the best laid plans.

Suddenly, she's in his arms, making love and realizing that goodbye is out of the question. She loves this man. Then, all hell breaks loose. Killers are after Kid, there's a bounty on his head and we are off to the races.

I loved this book. The main characters are still with me and the secondary characters, especially Travis and Jane and an intriguing woman named Skeeter Bang are wonderful and deserve their own books. But wait, Skeeter has her own book, CRAZY LOVE, being released June 2006.

BRAVO! Tara Janzen delivers!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not so crazy about this one January 8, 2014
By donna
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Did I like it? Yeah, kind of. The author has talent. The action scenes are plentiful and well written. What I didn't like was that there were more of them than scenes between the main characters. I felt that there wasn't enough talking and way to much telling. Overly abundant descriptions of what everybody was agonizing about in their heads.
This was my first book by Tara Janzen. I won't be trying her others. I don't think we're a good fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book Four In the "Crazy Series"! March 21, 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Ms. Janzen's fourth addition to her "Crazy" series is another action-packed romp full of larger then life characters.

Peter `Kid Chaos' Chronopolous lives life in the shadows. He's last assignment has taken him away from the only woman he will ever love. He has been away from Nikki McKinney for seven long months. In that time he has been to hell and back while trying to stay alive in the South American jungle. He has made some very dangerous enemies and they aren't going to let him walk away. No... Conseco is going to make sure that Kid pays with his life for all of the trouble he has cost Conseco. Will Kid be able to deal with his growing feelings for the stunning Nikki and will he be able to keep her safe from Conseco and the men set on killing him?

Nikki McKinney has not forgiven Kid for leaving her without a word and staying away for so long. He was her first and the feelings she has for him are not going away. Forced into action she flies for Panama City, Panama in order to say good-bye to the only man she will ever love. But she's only in his presence for a second before she's in his arms. Too bad reality and death enter the picture. Now, Nikki and Kid are both being hunted and they both need to come to terms with their feelings Will they ever have the happy ending Nikki so desperately wants with her Kid?

Ms. Janzen has penned another entertaining read featuring the men of Steel Street. As per usual she has added another interesting storyline revolving around Travis, Nikki's model. The previously existing relationship between Nikki and Kid adds wonderful tension to this steamy read...but if the reader is new to the series they will not be left confused as their history is well documented. Ms. Janzen knows how to weave a very entertaining story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Kid Chaos too chaotic for me November 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First let me say this book has a good story line, action packed, full of hot looking muscular manly men and beautiful, ecclectic women. But for me it dragged in too many places. It's starts in South America and ends in a seedy drug gang hangout in Denver, CO. Too many of the characters have two names. For me it was confusing and unneccessary. The main characters are Peter "Kid Chaos" Chronopolous and the love of his life Nikki. His job sends him to foreign lands to flush out major drug lords, gather information to provide to the DEA so they can shut the operations down. He struggles to keep his relationship going with Nikki, an artist who is gaining attention of her paintings/photographs of a male model (yes just one model) who is a gorgeous man and she displays him in her work with angel wings. Very strange. Kid goes away on a job and to avenge his brothers death and is gone for 7 months and does not communicate with Nikki at all. She gets mad and begins a relationship with a fiber artist and becomes engaged to him. Kid is shocked and sad and can't wait to get back to Denver so he can show her the two rings he "cradle robbed" from her parents grave in Peru or something like that. In his mind, this will prove how much he loves her and how much he thought of her while he was away and incommunicado. He and his partner are trying to get out of some remote part of the jungle after having gathered some information the DEA will want. They get shot at, Kid is injured and bleeding all over the place and they finally get away and get to hospital where he gets patched up and he leaves the hospital to go to his dead brothers home nearby. He's in pain, has a bullet wound has lost a lot of blood and just wants to sleep and quickly discovers someone is living in the house and yes, it's Nikki. Read more ›
