3.0 out of 5 stars The perfect plot for a semi-skin drive-in movie classic, April 11, 2009
This review is from: The Crazy Mixed-Up Nude (Paperback)
As the name and the image of the naked woman on the cover indicate, this is a book about voluptuous women. Collectively, they are known as the "Glamazons" and they are all six feet or taller and have difficulties keeping their breasts contained inside their garments, as the force of gravity against large objects tends to cause spillage. However, that is sometimes irrelevant as these women often have nothing for them to fall out of. Erick March is a private security consultant called in to protect Lola Darling, daughter of millionaire Derek Darling. Lola is also a beautiful woman, although she is not a Glamazon.
The story opens with Erick on board the Darling yacht about to be engaged in a game with the Glamazons where he is the prize. It is all in good fun, but there are thugs onboard that Erick must deal with. His encounters with the Glamazons are pleasurable in the expected sense, but his first encounter with Lola leaves him literally unconscious and he has a loss of memory when he awakes. A few of the Glamazons are brutally murdered and things are not as they appear to be as Erick tries to keep everyone on the good side alive. He "befriends" some of the Glamazons, enlists their help and battles the bad guys as they struggle over some valuable computer technology. The resolution of the problem is completely unexpected and a bit bizarre; suffice it to say not all of the beauty is what it appears to be.
As I read this story, the idea foremost in my mind is that it would be the perfect plot for one of the cheap semi-skin flicks that appeared in the drive-in movies in the early seventies after the censorship laws began to be relaxed. Properly made, it could have become a drive-in movie classic.
