Book Description

Return to Lovett, Texas, the setting of Daisy's Back in Town, in this smart and sexy new story from Rachel Gibson, the New York Times bestselling author of Rescue Me and the Seattle Chinooks books.

Lily Darlington's been called crazy in her day—and, yeah, driving her car into her ex-husband's living room probably wasn't the smartest move ever made—but the louse deserved it. Now Lily is happily single, and she's turned it all around. She knows she's a good mom, a homeowner, and a businesswoman, all wrapped up in one good-looking package.

A package that police officer Tucker Matthews is dying to unwrap. This ex-military man sure doesn't need another woman in his life. His last girlfriend left him with nothing but memories and a cat named Pinky! But living next door to Lily has been driving him nuts. He dreams about her long blonde hair and even longer legs. And maybe it's time to go a little crazy . . . and fall in love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plenty Packed into a Novella May 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Crazy On You
*ARC Supplied by Publisher*

Although this is novella length, there is plenty packed into this book.

If you have read "Daisy's Back in Town" then you may remember her nearly crazy sister Lily. She is the one that drove her car into her ex-husband Ronnie's house. Well with this novella, we get to see if Lily will have her `happy ending' like Daisy did. If you have never read anything by Ms Gibson, don't be nervous about starting here. Rachel Gibson has the unique ability found in very few of today's authors to never make it difficult for first time readers to jump right into a book. What makes her even more unique, is that readers who have been following her work are never bored when she does give back-story.
This was a steamier than usual book and I adored it.

A man has moved in next door to Lily only she hasn't become aware of it yet. He is a strong virile man; one who is ex-military and now a sheriff's deputy. His name is Tucker and he is most certainly aware of Lily! Although sparks certainly fly, Lily is concerned about looking like a "cougar" since Tucker is eight years her junior.

Ms. Gibson took her time even with the short amount of pages allowed her to write well thought out and complex characters, she gave them interesting narrative and as I mentioned earlier, Ms Gibson even took enough time to give back-story for those who may not have read the previous books.

Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Texas Fun July 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Not Gibson's best, but good enough to buy. Liked the heroine and loved, loved this hero, but the story is sort of too linear. They decide to do something, they discuss it, they do it. Not many twists and turns. Very funny ending.

I have read and reread all of her books and LOVE her!!! I could not wait to read this one to satisfy my craving until her new one comes out, but I should have saved my $1.99! This book was just plain awkward and BAD. Don't waste your money on this one, actually makes me hesitate to buy the new one :( Very disappointed!

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh dear... May 30, 2012
By BookOwl
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I must say that this was one of the silliest stories I have ever read. No character development, clunky dialogue and the sex scenes were rather "blah"... I just couldn't understand why the characters would fall in love at all! I normally eat up everything of Rachel Gibson's but this was simply too outlandish a story to be believable or romantic. Sigh...luckily her new one is out and I can just move on and pretend this never happened!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Gibson May 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Crazy On You is classic Rachel Gibson--she has a way of really connecting her audience to the characters and pulling you into the narrative. This novella is sweet and short. But not too short! It still tells a great story that you will love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy HOT! May 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
***Copy provided by Avon Impulse for review***
Rachel Gibson is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite authors and the main reason why my blog isn't YA only. When I first started to get into reading again 5 years ago, the first book I read was Rachel Gibson's Truly, Madly Yours. From then on, I knew that Rachel would be on my MUST-read list and I rediscovered my love for books. To this day, Truly, Madly Yours is still my favorite book of all time. I've read it 7 times so far and it seems like it gets better each time!

I'm always hounding Amazon and Goodreads to see what books she has coming out next. I was ecstatic when I found out that Rachel was going to release an e-book novella and re-vist Lily, one of the memorable character's in one of her older books-Daisy's Back In Town. Who could forget Lily Darlington who was a little unstable and ran her car into her ex (that rat bastard!) Ronnie's living room. Years later, Lily is not so crazy anymore. She is a single mother, raising her 10-year old son Pippen and she has her own successful spa company. But no matter how much she has changed, people in Lovett can't seem to forget or stop talking about Lily and her wild past.

On her way home, Lily ends up being pulled over by deputy Tucker Matthews for speeding. Tucker is immediately drawn to Lily, her sharp and witty attitude and her curvy body. Turns out Tucker is also Lily's new neighbor. When Tucker and her son start bonding over basketball, Tucker is more attracted to Lily once he realizes how much she loves her son, which is a big deal to someone like him who was raised in the foster care system. He makes it clear to Lily that he is attracted to her, and when it comes to him, Lily can't seem to keep her distance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quick read May 2, 2012
By D. Cox
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
My only complaint is that it was too short!
But it was an enjoyable quick read. I find I'm getting pickier in my 'old age' and will not finish a book that doesn't grab me, by making me care about the characters and having a great story.
This one fits the bill. I finished it in a few hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crazy Lily is BACK! May 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a novella set in the town on Lovett, Texas; where "Daisy's Back in Town" was set and where Rescue Me (RG's next release) will be set. Lily is Daisy's sister and one of the more memorable characters in "Daisy's Back in Town". If you read the book you will not forget that Lily drove her car through her Ex Rat Bastard Ronnie's front room. Actually that has to be one of the more memorable moments of just about any contemporary Romance I've ever read. LOL. So we already know we have a hella feisty heroine in Lily, but Tucker is no slouch in the hero department as well.

So this is a novella so it is pretty short, maybe a 100 ish pages. As a novella it is pretty quick paced and there isn't a whole lot of room for full character development. So I am glad we had already met Lily, but in this novella she is a changed woman. She no longer does crazy things; she owns a successful salon, cares for her 10 year old son and lives a quite life trying to live down her crazy days. Lily knows she will always be a little bit crazy and rash in her decision making skills which is why she is wound so tight, but when Tucker arrives next door all that crazy threatens to come back and that's really got Lily running scared even as she is running to him instead away from him like she should be doing. I truly liked Lily but I think I liked her a bit more when she was a bit crazier, I mean we don't need her running her car through any more houses but a little less controlled wouldn't hurt. But Tucker does a pretty good job at starting to knock past those barriers.

Tucker, I'm still not sure I have a good handle on him. I know he is ex-military from a crappy childhood. He just wants a quite life now that he's out of the army and that he feels like he adapts easily.
