More About the Author

Jennifer Crusie was researching her dissertation on the differences in the way men and women tell stories when she got sidetracked into writing romance novels.

Her first book was published in 1993 (which pretty much finished off any hope of her getting that PhD) and her twenty-second book, Maybe This Time, came out in August of 2010, all of which she considers a minor miracle, especially since she is also a New York Times, USA Today and Publisher's Weekly bestseller and a two-time Rita award winner.

Jenny is currently working on her new Liz Danger mystery series. She is a very happy woman.

Great book. I always love Jenny's work, and I always love author's notes about their work. This gives me both. I often wonder about the parts of character's lives that doesn't make it into books, and these stories answer a lot of that.

I had some concern about a self-published book - it really, REALLY irks me to have to wade through poorly edited and proof-read prose - but Crusie does a top-notch job of all aspects of her work - her plots, characterizations, turn of phrase...I gotta say, there's nothing about this woman's work that I don't like, and her books live on my reread shelf.

Having read Crazy for you made this collection all the better, cos it was background on characters I already knew & loved, the post-desertion letters from the wife were brilliant beyond words - especially how to identify his car if stolen!!! Some were laugh out loud, others were smile worthy. Bring on the new book Jenny!

I generally love to read anything that Jennifer Crusie writes but I found this difficult to read and stay interested in. If you are a writer, want to be a writer, or wonder what it would be like to be a writer and develop characters, you would love it. I have no interest in writing anything other than one of these reviews or a text so it really didn't hold my interest.

I have fallen in love with Jennifer Crusie's works and have now read most of them. I downloaded this book as it references the book "Crazy for You," a book I had not yet read.

I discovered that I could not get interested in this book which surprises me as I thought I would love to read some background on how this author got started. Then it turns out I downloaded the "Crazy for You" book and couldn't like it either.

I like Jennifer Crusie as she takes risks with her background stories and plots and succeeds beautifully, but this book just couldn't grab my attention, and unfortunately the actual book, "Crazy for You," didn't work for me either.

I do give J Crusie credit for experimentation and a high success rate. Just failed to get me involved on this one.

I LOVE Jennifer Crusie and thought this would be a fun, quick read to get a little back story on some of my favorite characters. I was a bit disappointed, it felt like reading an exercise from a creative writing course in college. Looking back I wish I would have spent the money to replace one of my paperbacks with a digital copy instead. I doubt I will ever return to this book, once was enough for me.

I love Jennifer Crusie, and I enjoyed getting this "sneak peak" into her writing process. This little collection might not be the best place to get started if you're new to Crusie's work, but for the reader who's already familiar with Frog Point, it offers a rare window into the journey from short story to novel.

Not really a great book as the stories and characters are all familiar, but I did enjoy reading it. I found it very interesting to see how these short stories and writing assignments turned into the novels and characters we love. It's a nice addition to the library of a Jennifer Cruisie fan.

I ENJOYED the stories and got a kick out of the series of weddings. Too much like my own experiences. Very funny.
