5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy about this crazy quilt book
This book is an absolute must for every quilter or quilt collector. The historical information is excellent, as are the photos and technical information. Even if you're not interested in making a crazy quilt, this book is beautiful to look at. I have it as a coffee table book as well as for reference.

2.0 out of 5 stars Rather Disappointed
This book is heavy on history and photographs of quilts. I was looking for inspiration,and- pointers on technique that would help me with an antique quilt that I would like to repair. This book did not help me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cindy's Opus, August 2, 2008
This review is from: Crazy Quilts: History - Techniques - Embroidery Motifs (Hardcover)
Cindy Brick has penned an excellent book on the history of crazy quilting. I lecture and teach crazy quilting around the country and appreciate the hard work she has put into this tome. Dealing with the history of a specific needlework technique can get a little dry, but Cindy has remedied that by putting humorous passages throughout this stunningly photographed book. This is a definite must-have for your library.

I have a dozen or more books solely dedicated to crazy quilts and this one is an excellent addition to my library. I was happy to see so many new ideas and photos of vintage crazy quilts I had not yet seen. I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating History of Crazy Quilts, January 27, 2009
This review is from: Crazy Quilts: History - Techniques - Embroidery Motifs (Hardcover)
I love quilting and I have heard of crazy quilts but I was never quite sure what they were or how to make them. This book answered all my questions. Author Cindy Brick offers a fascinating history of crazy quilts as well as instructions on how to make your own. This book is useful for anyone who loves quilting or who has an interest in American social history or textile history. It is a beautiful book you will want to look at again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, April 3, 2011

If you have any interest in the history of Crazy quilts, this book is an absolute must for your library! Cindy's knowledge is certainly expert, and the quality of the photos is amazing. If you make Crazy Quilts, you'll find hundreds of ideas from those wonderful illustrations and be totally inspired. A chapter on basic instructions, also well written, is also included. I purchased both the hard and soft cover so that I could study, highlight, etc., the paperback and let it get "beat up" a little, and have a perfect copy in my library. Worth every penny!

I really enjoyed the history of crazy quilts which Cindy Brick does an excellent job of explaining. I am going to be taking a crazy quilt class and believe that knowing the history will help in selecting the fabric and trimming. She gives very easy to understand explanations of how to create your own crazy quilt.
