This is a review more on the purely visual aspect of the book than on the written, only because my personal interest as an artist is more focused on just the pure joy of beholding these extraordinary quilts. I have not read it in depth but the text appears to be extremely thorough, interesting, and rich as the quilts themselves.

I have seen much great art of all cultures in my life, and many of the quilts pictured in this diverse and fascinating collection can rival the best of it. They are splendid, delightful, insanely imaginative and just stunning pieces of this very special art form. Anyone looking for inspiration for the creation of either their own quilts, or perhaps paintings or collages, will find a never ending source of it in this jewel of a book.
