Editorial Reviews

NRBQ pianist Terry Adams unveils his new band The Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet with Crazy 8's, ten tracks recorded live in the spring of 2009. Adams's new band rocks - they display consummate musicianship, a fearless approach, and fun fun fun. In a live setting, Adams, a true American music original, still works without a net (no set list) and his bandmates eagerly follow him out on the wire. From the garage rock of the opener Never Cop Out to the instrumental Crazy Eights to a killer version of Honey Hush to the heartbreaking Imaginary Radio, it's clear The Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet picks up where NRBQ left off. Good news for music lovers everywhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars The spirit of NRBQ lives on! June 9, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Terry Adams shows without a doubt that the main force and identity in the music of NRBQ was and is Terry Adams. This live CD is pretty much the same energy and naughty boy playfulness that you would expect from a great NRBQ show with tune's like "Hey Punkinhead" and others. "My Imaginary Radio" is best "gotten" by anyone that's had to deal with a "real radio" station in trying to get your music played by them, his claim that his imaginary one plays Sun Ra etc. is the height of sarcasm with a tongue in cheek wink to everyone "in the know". Raucous R&R with a Thelonius Monk twist is what he serves up best, and that's what you get with his new band.

4.0 out of 5 stars NRBQ style rock & rolls on January 28, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The good times rock/pop/jazz/roll music is in full effect on this new CD by Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet. The guys in the band even look & sound like the little brothers of Tom, Joey & Al from NRBQ. My only beef is it's too short & could have pulled more tunes off of the Rhythm Spell album. So get both CD's & go see the TARRQ.
