5.0 out of 5 stars Cute, Fun and Amazing December 15, 2009
Format:Hardcover
I've always wanted to go to Japan and explore Tokyo's streets; with this book, I almost felt like I was there. Not only it shows an amazing variety of cafés, bars and restaurants, but each and everyone of those is described in such a fun way, you feel like you're reading a letter from a friend of yours.

It has certainly opened up my curiosity, and it has taught me a little bit more about japanese society and subcultures and how Tokyo works. My appetite for this city has grown deeper and I just can't wait to visit each and every of this places personally.

If you're looking to expand your urban knowledge about Tokyo, "Crazy, Wacky Theme Restaurants. Tokyo" surely wont dissapoint you, and it's a must have in your coffee table.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really disappointingly poor quality photos and reviews February 14, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
For $18.27 on Amazon, this book was a rip off. It's 95 pages and the photos are really awful like some teenager took them all with an iPhone. The composition and quality of the photos, actually a drunk teenager seemed to take them, most are blurry. Just awful. The text was worse. La Carmina is pretentious and boring and her weird poses in the book make it look like she botoxed her entire face, no expression whatsoever, just weird. She talks down to her dinner guests bc they're not enjoying themselves. Who the f k would enjoy a watered down, sugary cocktail with little alcohol. It's a good guide to the cafe's two of which are closed, but I'm sure it would be cheaper to just go online to some online place that talks about Japanese theme restaurants. She doesn't even really cover all the menu items and her photos of the menu's are out of focus so you can't even see what's on the menu. Just an awful little cruddy book for $18.27 don't buy it. But I love the idea of wacky theme restaurants. F k you Anthony Bourdeain for introducing me to this La Carmina and her stupid book. you owe me $18.27 a hole!
