I'm 41 years old and had never heard of ASLAN until a month ago. I was in Germany on business and went to a local pub for refreshment. The proprietor (who is Irish) was playing some background music that absolutely amazed me. I asked him what it was and it turned out to be Aslan's "Made In Dublin". These guys instantly became one of my favorite bands. I want to buy more of their stuff, but I can't find it in the States. Of course looking for it over here is complicated by the fact that their is an american christian rock band with the same name.

Aslan, Ireland's local heroes first recorded this album for their 1994 album "Goodbye Charlie Moonhead" and has since become something of an anthem. It's powerful music and beautiful lyrics with an astonishing chorus sums up the power of Aslan. This single is truly one of the best songs from any Irish band. And Bono won't disagree!

If crazy world was released by an already famous band it would have been no 1 for several months worldwide

absolutely agree with pete... just fantastic. I'm from scotland and can't understand why they've not become famous further afield. Fantastic band, fantastic song.

First of all, the bio notes suggest that Aslan is a group involved in Christian music. The "Crazy World" Aslan is NOT that band. They are a tough, melodic and inspirational rock band, with a charismatic lead singer - Christy Dignam. They are also Ireland's most popular live band. I saw them in July this year in a packed and sweaty venue in Dublin's Harold's Cross. It was the last Aslan gig before their tour of Oz. They showcased Crazy World and much of their brilliant earlier work. A fight broke out in the crowd and the three elephantine, bloodied and in-bred culprits were eventually evicted by the bouncer team. During all the action, Christy was no more that a foot from the broken glass and sliding bodies, but neither he nor the band missed a beat. It had been a while since I saw them last - but they served up vintage Aslan. They moved the fans - ranging from the first generation from the late 80s to teenies overflowing their Spice track bottoms - to ecstasy and to tears. Christy Dignam's voice conjures up demons and pain, escape and victory. It leaves you feeling whole. And the band are so charged that their enthusiasm bursts out at every harmonica, guitar and keyboard solo opportunity. Aslan likes being Aslan.

Do I sound a bit biased? I've been a fan since the early days and can't understand why they're still largely local heroes. Crazy World is very good Aslan. It'll give your spirits a lift and make you want more. Then see them live for something you won't forget.

Aslans crazy world is well.... Brilliant!, An Irish Top 10 twice ! its timeless classic rock music from the hearts of the musicians who wrote and perform it. When you buy this your are only getting a glimpse of their brilliance, you will have to buy the album, then surely travel the world to see them live.
