A Crazy & Poetic Tale,
By J. Aday "J. Aday Kennedy" (Mineola, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Creaky Old House: A Topsy-Turvy Tale of a Real Fixer-Upper (Hardcover)
Remodeling an old house and uncovering one problem that leads to another is artfully depicted by Linda Ashman's rhyming prose and Michael Chesworth's illustrations. The humorous tale is outrageously imaginative. A faulty doorknob that needs to be replaced grows into the family's full scale renovation plans. Anyone with experience sprucing up an old house will relate to the snow-balling effect of one project turning into dozens. Children will delight in the detailed descriptions couched in rhyme and love that it takes a child's simple logic to solve the original problem and fix the door knob.
