4.0 out of 5 stars much better than her transport
well let me start off by saying this album is a big jump from her dissapointing transport. She starts off with a smooth tribal track solid ground-carissa mondavi which pretty much sets up the rest of the album. track two is robot funk 2001-manhattan cimmera mix, this is the first time i heard this mix the original is a wicked track but this one is very dark with some...

3.0 out of 5 stars Low-key sequel filled with moody floor-fillers
Well it's about time Sandra Collins dished out a sequel to her first (and dazzling) mix of over a year ago, Transport 3, arguably the best of the series and one of 2000's must haves.

well let me start off by saying this album is a big jump from her dissapointing transport. She starts off with a smooth tribal track solid ground-carissa mondavi which pretty much sets up the rest of the album. track two is robot funk 2001-manhattan cimmera mix, this is the first time i heard this mix the original is a wicked track but this one is very dark with some killer backround effects for those who never heard cimmera check out their track intitled feedback wave. sandra then takes that track and blends it perfectly and turns it up a notch with a progressive tune by lastmanstanding-momentum. throughout the rest of the album is pretty much housy and progressive and i must say she did a wonderful job expecially since these tracks are very rare and new. i highly recommend this album to anyone who likes deep and progressive trance and also those who like house will most likely enjoy this album

4.0 out of 5 stars DEEP TRANCE, July 15, 2003

Ok, so people are all like "I cant dance to this" and "Its slow and moody", those people obvisouly dont know much about Sandra Collins, she's a DEEP TRANCE dj. Yes, there is a "deep trance" genre, just like there is hard trance, trance, progressive, etc. etc. This cd is much like Tranceport 3, except towards the end of Tranceport 3, she tends to throw in some uplifint and Epic trance. This cd is good deep trance all the way around, so if you want something you can definately chill to when stoned or not, pick it up.

3.0 out of 5 stars Low-key sequel filled with moody floor-fillers, November 10, 2001

Well it's about time Sandra Collins dished out a sequel to her first (and dazzling) mix of over a year ago, Transport 3, arguably the best of the series and one of 2000's must haves.

Cream is a different affair altogether, a slow-burning beast focused primarily on big drums for big moments with big room majesty. Certainly, she must have some considerable pull to get this list of underground DJ cuts approved. Remember, it's Cream - a club label reknowned for delivering the big hits.

Opener "Solid Ground" receives a minimal, tribal ten minute makeover courtesy of Markus Schultz, well done even if the Fade Vocal mix proves hard to top. It's seventeen minutes in before synth stabs and stuttered beats perk things up on Momentum's "Lastmanstanding" and a full half-disc in before the eerie Piece Process confessional "My Mind is Going" traces a memorable cut. Collins closes strong with a pack from Maurice & Noble, only the overblown Chiller Twist epic "Do You Hear It" a stumble along the way.

Filled with moody floor-fillers and few breakout hits, Cream likely won't spark listeners keyed to glossy, hook-driven sets. Given a full hour's attention, however, it just may lure you in to the darker pleasures of the progressive house movement.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Sandra Collins Experience, January 25, 2002

With her much anticipated follow-up to Tranceport 3, Sandra Collins has indeed taken her listeners through yet another journey.

With the first track starting you on "Solid Ground", she soon takes the listener into an escape of the mind, soul, and in some cases the body.

Although she spends a little too much time building the listeners anticipation through the heart of the album, she begins her climax with a good "Fouk" and closes out your experience letting you know that "Faith Delivers" when you purchase a Sandra Collins album.

3.0 out of 5 stars Encourages Easy Dreaming, April 17, 2002

I don't know what it is, I like this CD but I could never dance to this mix in a club. Maybe it's just because I prefer the pace of jungle and the grooves of house or maybe Sandra collins is falling off slightly. I've heard abiout her exploits on the club scene and maybe the toll is finally taking...

Anyways, I do enjoy this CD so I'm not dissing it. But If I put it in late at night, within 30 minutes I'm knocked out...never fail. It's more soothing than pounding and more progressive than banging. Maybe the Queen of 'Boys Music' (as URB magazine called her) is finally succoming to her more maternal instincts?

This album walks a fine line between hitting it's mark and missing it completely but I (who doesn't normally like trance) wasn't dissaopointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars quite possibly my favorite prog-trance mix, March 5, 2007

eschewing the youthful exuberance of her breakthrough mix, tranceport III, collins takes the Cream series where it has never been before: the dark, haunting depths of progressive trance and deep house. the label must have had considerable faith in her marketing value and penchant for track selection, or such a relatively avante-garde tracklisting may never have seen the light of day on a compilation series hitherto known for its epic trance riffs and dance-able beats.

collins brings the latter at least in formidable quantity, though the style of the mix is such that it takes several listens to appreciate much more than the superb intro by Carissa Mondavi or the stunning aural workmanship of Maurice and Noble which is the climax of the set. Indeed, the mood is kept dark and minimal, yet in this environment a sort of primal power is born that surpasses that of tranceport III. this isn't the prog-trance of sasha and digweed; rather i am reminded of breeder, or noel sanger: tribal, dirty, sweaty, pounding rhythm. And just when you think the CD is stalling, Collins ups the ante and intrduces a groove to make your spine tingle.

'solid ground' is perhaps a bit drawn out but beautiful; one of the Markus Schulz's finer moments as a producer. it is one of the gems of the set, and sets the tone nicely for what is to come.

'warp' kicks the mix into really high gear, its bass compels you to move!

'my mind is going' contains one of those addictive, psychologically driven samples collins is so fond of. a great track, just ups the tempo a bit.

the last two productions by Maurice & Noble are simply sublime and clinch the set superbly. the synths are so minimal, yet so effective; they hypnotize you into a blissful prog groove. i liken their sound to some nathan fake productions or perhaps cass & slide (perception, seduction of orpheus) for those of you who are old school.

though i am no huge fan of progressive trance, i give this mix massive respect as a fan of good music. it's up there with GU 013, Balance 005 and Transport IV as one of the best prog-trance mixes of all time. driving enough to keep you nodding your head, intelligent enough to be listened to over and over again without getting boring, with just enough samples and synths to spice things up, and possessing a couple of stunning productions; this is a truly excellent mix. 5 stars.

I fell in love with Sandra Collins after listening to "Tranceport 3" in 2000. It inspired me in so many ways...mostly it influenced my music (I am a multi-faceted trance dj from Dallas,TX). This album is seamless as "Tranceport 3" and her previous album "Lost in Time". I recommend this to anyone who loves trance music. Music is the shorthand of emotion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quality release, March 22, 2004

Personally, I would agree that the CD lacks a track that brings the mix up to another level. But this CD does have a nice vibe to it. It slowly, steadily surges forward, similar to GU Los Angeles. I realize that Sandra is known to spin trance, but in my opinion, this seems to be more of a progressive house release than anything. Overall, a quality release that I would recommend.
