5.0 out of 5 stars Sista's R Doing It 4 Themselves!
This collection is in a zone of it's own. Enter at your own risk. It's short, sweet, and straight to the point. TuShonda tells the tale of the 'true' ride or die chick. While Danielle Santiago has went 'Scarface' black folks style with the flava of a real 'gangsta girl!' And last but not least T.N. Baker's talking about if you play too long, you just might play...

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Short
I enjoyed all 3 stories, but honestly had I known up front that this was 3 mini stories I would not have purchased this book. This was a selection from our book club and this would've been one of the ones that I passed on. I enjoy reading background and more in dept plots about the characters. As soon as you get lost in the characters then the story is over. I was...

5.0 out of 5 stars Talk about....leaving you hanging!!!, September 14, 2006
By
This review is from: Cream (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
Okay, I am going to start off by saying all 3 stories were very well written and had me wanting more. All of the stories were tied into relationships and friendships. I don't know if the authors met to leave you hanging or plan on finishing the stories in seperate books. They all were so good I would like to read each story in its entirety. Come on Ladies, get to writting!!!

The Last Run- Bruh and Zion were met to be. Although she was Tomika's friend it was evident that Bruh and Zion had better chemistry. I am just glad she came thru when she did or her man would have had it coming to him...I am curious to know what will happen next. Tu-Shonda you better not leave me in suspence too long!!!

Fair Exchange, No Robberies- Lovi was a real down A*S chick. She really had her brothers (Dough) back and was down for whatever. Dough knew that his friend Nicky was a good guy and would be good to his sister, that is why it wasn't no thing for them to hook up. Things were really looking up for all 3 of them after Dough spent some time in jail and then the altimate happened. It was messed up how things turned out. What will Lovi do now????

Rollin' Dice- Wassaun, Wassaun, Wassuan...what was he thinking doing his girl like that...over a dice game???? All I have to say was she was a heck of a woman to do that for her "so called" man but what did he expect after it was all said and done. The relationship would NEVER be the same after that. He should have handled this situation differently. Now he wants revenge...LOL!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it, August 25, 2006
This review is from: Cream (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
All the stories were good. I just hated how they left you hanging and knowing that their more than likely won't be any sequels to any of them considering the fact that they are short stories made me mad. But the book was very good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh So Hot!!!, March 6, 2006
This review is from: Cream (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I just finished this book last night and it was off the hook! I loved each story, and they definitely could have been novels of their own. Those love scenes had me on fire! Job well done to all three authors. I'm hoping they decide to write a sequel cause the stories sure do leave you hangin. Props to the girls!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars An action-packed sexy tale of the streets...., December 30, 2005
By
The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cream (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
CREAM by T.N. Baker, Tu-Shonda Whitaker and Danielle Santiago is a triple scoop of sexy street stories that tantalize while still "keeping it real" to the street genre. It brings together three of the best female writers at Triple Crown Publications. Each story is a stand-alone novella and all display the individual talents of each writer. It is hardcore drama-packed writing.

CREAM begins with T.N. Baker's "Rollin' Dice." Wassuan Wells has two loves in the world: his dice game and his sexy, beautiful girlfriend Enychi Carter. The question is which one comes first? "Rollin' Dice" offers the "Indecent Proposal" twist on a platter. "The Last Run" by Tu-Shonda Whitaker is the story of Bruh. Bruh is back on the street after a two-year stint in prison, but he needs to take care of some unfinished business that involves his baby's mama's best friend, Zion. The story also has a unique take on the non-traditional beauty and size issue. The last novella by Danielle Santiago is "Fair Exchange, No Robberies." Lovi is a college-student and is tough, sexy, smart, and on top of her game. Lovi's world is in control until Nicky, her older brother's best friend, steps into the picture. Santiago slips in a theme of unrequitted love; the spiced up version of a street Romeo and Juliet.

I love when humor is mixed with drama. CREAM has that and more. Each story is well-written with interesting characters and doesn't glamorize street life. Each has a unique view that keeps the reader entertained and wanting more, amusing while still keeping it sexy and real. It gets drab to read the same story over and over again. Unfortunately in street fiction genre this is becoming the norm. The street fairytale. CREAM does not fit in this mode, but offers a delicious mix of twist and turns that kept me guessing from the first novella to the last. The ladies brought it to the table. A triple grand slam by Triple Crown Production.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Diva's of Hip Hop get together, September 10, 2005
This review is from: Cream (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
Cream is a compilation of three very good short stories written by three diva's of the urban literature world. I enjoyed the story The Last Run by Tu-Shonda Whitaker, my favorite, deals with Bruh and Zion and their thuggish love story...Zion held her man down until the end.. an ending that I certainly didn't expect...Fair Exchange/No Robberies by Danielle Santiago is another thuggish love story where the sister prevails and there are twist and turns that you wouldn't expect..will Lovi come back for revenge...Rollin' Dice by T.N. Baker makes one think about all indecent proposals. The very thing that you think you love maybe you have to lose it in order to appreciate it before putting it into jeopardy...will this short story continue...I hope so... I really enjoyed all of these short stories by these three young ladies. Kudos to them, a good combination.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cream - Off the Hook, October 25, 2006
This review is from: Cream (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I couldn't put this book down. Each story had me wondering what the next story was about. The writers did a great job at making the stories somewhat similar, but with different writing styles. It's funny how each story left me hanging. I hope there is a Cream 2.
