Book Description

Turn family history from a chart into a treasure that children and adults 'not into genealogy' will love to read. This book will take you through 12 simple steps to go from a pile of stuff to a digital book that can be printed or viewed on a computer. Learn how you can share your family history with others in your family so that they will be interested in the people they are related to.

For genealogists who have done research but want to create a visually appealing, reader friendly book. For scrapbookers who haven't done family history but want to tackle that project and tell a story rather than list random thoughts.

I have wanted to start publishing my family history research for a long time. I really like the idea of picture books but wanted to have more creative control than the big websites offer. I found this book and love it. The book walks you through how to organize your information, digitizing your documents and photos, and outlining your story. It also tells you how create your own scrapbook page by adding photos and text and using digital templates and embellishments. This book was easy to follow and get started on my own project. I have made several digital scrapbook pages and refer back to sections of the book as needed. I would recommend this book to any family historian who wants to tell their ancestor's story!

The scrapbook approach will make it much easier to expand to a family history book later. The fear factor sets in when considering a full fledged book, but scrapbooking is fun. For me, this book was a good investment. I heartily recommend it.

More About the Author

I grew up having photos of my ancestors on the walls of my home. I heard a few stories here and there, but I didn't really 'know' my ancestors. I want my children to know as much about their ancestors as they know about horses or Star Wars. That's a tall order. If I find a way to compile family history in an attractive format for them, they will know.

I started writing books because I believe everyone can play a part in the work of family history. You don't have to enjoy library archives or cemeteries to do something to preserve your family's heritage. With my books, I show you how to I take your memories and research and turn them into something your children and extended family members can enjoy.

When I'm not working on preserving memories, I am raising my five amazing children and sharing a wonderful life with a great husband in the Mid-West.
