What if you were given the challenge to maneuver a race car through a flaming hoop, say 20-30-40 feet up in the air. Think you could do it? What if it had to be done with balloons? Or perhaps using so many variables that it looks like a Rube Goldberg machine? Of course this is a pretty ridiculous request, but assuming the suspension of everyday reality and belief, and an assortment of malleable if unlikely objects, could you make it happen? This is the crux of Create. Consisting of a large series of puzzle challenges tending towards the outrageous, players must use their imaginations and objects provided or already part of their in-game possessions to succeed. With success comes additional items that can be used in later endeavors, if not ruled out by the challenge at hand. Challenges are set within a variety of base game worlds that can also be customized using an in-game toolset. Creations can also be saved, reused and reedited

5.0 out of 5 stars Very creative puzzle game December 13, 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've never seen such a creative game like this before. You don't play against a computer or somebody else, it's all up to you to figure out the challenges on each level on your own. Plus, it's up to you to create how the background environment looks.

You start out with a tutorial level where you learn the basics of Create. I suggest not skipping the tutorial otherwise you might get completely lost and confused as to what you're suppose to do in the game.

There are about 10 puzzle challenge levels in each floating 'World' with several floating Worlds to play through before reaching the end of the game. In each world you also score points by creatively decorating the world using the given textures, objects, stickers, and tools throughout the game. As you progress, more and more objects and textures and stuff become unlocked. You can also score additional points by doing decorating 'chains', explained in the tutorial, which are very helpful in boosting your score so you can progress to the next world.

If you are familiar with any of the Sims games, imagine the decorating part to be very similar to Sims build mode, adding wallpaper, flooring, and stuff. In Create, you can also add various re-sizable objects such as animals, furniture, trees, stickers, skies, etc, and like I said, unlocking more as you progress through the game. What's really amazing is that you can decorate almost EVERYTHING seen on the screen, including the sky around each world. Even the background music, which is also customizable by clicking on which tune you'd like to hear, offers more and more unlockable choices.

The challenges are puzzles with each level different from the previous.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clever, very clever December 12, 2010

I can't believe how much fun I had playing this. I really enjoyed the game once the tutorial was completed. You have to enjoy thinking games, otherwise you will either be annoyed or irate. It is intricate and interesting if you have patience and can think outside the box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun game for those who like challenges December 1, 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my 12 year old daughter and she enjoys it very much. She likes challenge puzzle type games. This game really gets your kid thinking, they have to use different items to build bridges, etc. She has only had it two weeks, so I am not sure how advanced it gets, but so far she enjoys playing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! I've never played a game like this before March 6, 2011
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We have had this game for about a month. It is being played by me (I'm 41) and my two daughters, ages 8 and 10. We all love it! That being said, I can understand why some people hate this game.

It is critically important that you go through the tutorial at the beginning. In fact, I went through it twice, since I didn't quite "get it" the first time through. But, once I got it, wow!

There are almost endless ways to solve each puzzle. Half the fun in our household is to see how each of us comes up with solutions to the puzzles. My daughters often tell me, after I solve a puzzle, that they did it totally differently.

One of the things I love most about this game is that it forces us to use items in ways they were never meant to be used. That might sound simple, but it's actually quite hard to get past the intended purpose of an item and use it for something else. I often feel a bit like McGyver while playing this, for those who get the reference.

Lastly, I want to say that I am NOT good at puzzles. In fact, I usually hate them, because my brain just doesn't think that way. Yes, this IS a puzzle-type game, but not in the typical sense. This is more like throwing things together and seeing what happens.

- Go through the tutorial at least once, and do EXACTLY what it tells you to do.
- Press the "Go" button at the beginning of a puzzle to see what happens before you do anything to manipulate it. This is something I do often, because sometimes I just don't get what needs to be done, but seeing it in action will help.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great but not bad January 15, 2012
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
So, my daughter gets this for Christmas and she starts to play around with it while I'm not around. She stumbles through stuff not really understanding how she got where she went. She's 11 1/2. Then I sit down and start to play a new profile from the start. I follow the tutorial and low and behold completely lost. I'm asking her how she got as far as she did and she said she really didn't understand what she was doing but just kept playing with it. Okay, so I continue. I'm determined to figure out what the heck is going on. After two hours of experimenting, reading the guide and looking online I figured out how to get to level 1! Yes, level 1. Nobody seems to have the "CREATE" stage walk-thru online anywhere. I'm not one that wants to use a walk-thru on a game because that's cheating, however, after hours of being lost I thought it was warranted. Even the makers of the game have a video online explain how easy and fun it is. Of course it is to them! LOL

With every video game I figure there are goals and there certainly were with this one although it doesn't really explain it that well in the guide. You're lost until you get the gist (IMHO). Once we understood the process we enjoyed the game. During play you will be presented with different types of goals. They are either creating your landscape goals (not explained) or accomplishing some puzzles(which are explained). Every time I entered a world I would get the landscaping goals (the icon that appears in the upper left hand corner) accomplished and then start on the puzzles. That seems to work really well.

Once you get going the game makes you think and work on solutions. It's an interesting game. You MUST have patience. No doubt. My daughter currently has a love/hate relationship with this game.
