This review is from: How to Create Picture Books: A step-by-step guide for young authors and illustrators (Paperback)
This book first arrived in my life when my children were in middle school in a school district just north of New Orleans in the early 1990's. In fact, the author came with it! I was thrilled when I found that I could order this book recently online since my original copy was quite worn. My two children are now happily employed as young adults. Mike Artell has done a wonderful job capturing and presenting the process of making a book easy to understand. His lively illustrations and simple explanations are appropriate for the individual student to follow or for a volunteer mom (like I was) to teach a whole class full of eager children. The book now has a permanent place in my classroom as now I am a teacher of elementary gifted students. I refer to it frequently!
