Creating Balance in Children: Activities to Optimize Learning and Behavior, February 13, 2006
This review is from: Creating Balance in Children: Activities to Optimize Learning and Behavior (Paperback)
I wish I'd had this book when I was teaching kids! The activities really encourage children to improve their mental processes, get along better with others, and take care of and respect themselves and the environment. The authors also address "nourishing the spirit" with activities that promote love, laughter, courage, and caring, purpose and meaning in life, a connection with nature and animals, and an awareness of the children's own talents. I especially like the activity "Resolving Conflicts with POOF!" It presents such a fun, effective way to address conflict.
This activity book helps parents and teachers put into action some of the suggestions the authors give in their companion book, Creating Balance in Children's Lives: A Natural Approach to Learning and Behavior. I like the clear, step-by-step directions and the variety of activities, which cover all the areas necessary to be a balanced individual.
