I really enjoyed reading this book. I work with foster and adoptive families and this book is full of very useful material that I've been able to use to help those I work with. This approach, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, which is an empirically validated, effective, and evidence-base method is just great. The book details the basis of this approach and provides many practical examples. The chapters by parents are great for parents to read. I especially liked the analyzed transcript of a session; it gave me a good picture of what this approach looks like.

This is a great book!! I work in child welfare and this book is full of very useful material that I've been able to use. The book details the basis of this approach and provides many practical examples. The chapters by parents are great for parents to read. I frequently have them read chapters and the reports I get are always glowing. I especially liked the analyzed transcript of a session; it gave me a good picture of what this approach looks like.
