About the Author

Jatinder N. D. Gupta is currently Eminent Scholar of Management, Professor of Management Information Systems, and Chairperson of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the College of Administrative Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering (with specialization in Production Management and Information Systems) from Texas Tech University. Recipient of the Outstanding Faculty and Outstanding Researcher awards from Ball State University, he has published numerous papers in such journals as Journal of Management Information Systems, International Journal of Information Management, INFORMS Journal of Computing, Annals of Operations Research, and Mathematics of Operations Research. His current research interests include information and decision technologies, scheduling, planning and control, organizational learning and effectiveness, systems education, and knowledge management.

Steve Clarke received a BSc in Economics from The University of Kingston Upon Hull, an MBA from the Putteridge Bury Management Centre, The University of Luton, and a PhD in Human Centred Approaches to Information Systems Development from Brunel University all in the United Kingdom. He is Professor of Information Systems at the University of Hull (UK). He has extensive experience in management systems and information systems consultancy and research, focusing primarily on the identification and satisfaction of user needs and issues connected with knowledge management. His research interests include: social theory and information systems practice; strategic planning; and the impact of user involvement in the development of management systems. Major current research is focused on approaches informed by critical social theory. Steve is joint editor of OR Insight. --This text refers to the Digital edition.
