A valuable learning experience
on November 26, 2001
I have worked for several companies where mission statements were "statements" but not much more. After being involved in setting up a new team for planning our e-commerce venture, the team decided after reading this book (oops, e-document) that it would be a valuable exercise to develop a real mission statement that helped the organization as a whole understand our role. It has really helped focus our team, and, more than anything else, it has helped the senior people manage their expectations of what we're going to accomplish. I'm really glad we came across this short article. More Brown Herron please!
