More About the Author

Dana Rongione is a full-time Christian author and speaker, fulfilling her call to share God's message of hope and comfort through her books, lessons, podcasts and blog posts. Though her passion lies in writing adult devotional books, Dana has also authored Christian books for children, including her middle-grade mystery series, The Delaware Detectives.

In addition, Dana has written articles for Christian magazines such as Giggles and Grace, Teachers of Vision and Devo'zine, as well as many online publications. She is currently a contributing author at Christian Books for Women, Life to the Fullest, Joyful Home and Life, and Demand Media, in addition to her personal blog, A Word Fitly Spoken.

Dana graduated from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College with a BS in Elementary Education. After teaching for nine years, Dana heeded the Lord's calling to leave her job and embark on a writing career. In the next couple of years, Dana acquired two separate certifications from The Institute of Children's Literature.

Beyond her roles as author and speaker, Dana works to balance her duties as wife, homemaker, part-time teacher, church pianist, Sunday School teacher (Bible Baptist Church, Pickens, SC) and "mommy" to her two rotten dogs. She resides in Greenville, SC with her husband, Jason and her canine companions, Tippy and Mitchell. In her spare time, Dana enjoys reading, hiking and daydreaming.

It's the first of these I've read as I begin my fiction writing after years in non-fiction. This book gives an excellent guide to the basics.

Dana's book is very instructive. It will definitely guide anyone who wants to be a fiction writer.
According to her, a good fiction work should have a clear beginning, middle and end.
Other ingredients which make a fictional work readable - where to find story ideas; how to write a story; how to develop strong characters , dialogues, theme, setting and plot are explained in detail. The writing exercises at the end of each topic will help you how to weave together a good story. How to submit and market your book is also discussed.
I loved reading this book.
