This book is focused on using assessment to inform instruction, which most good teachers do anyway, but it gets down to the nuts and bolts. Writing rubrics, writing conferences, peer conferencing and publishing are all detailed and supported with sample materials. I use this book for ideas in my middle school reading workshop and it has made my instruction more focused and relevant.
