I love this book. A quick, easy read, it gives honest and useful advice on how to start a weight loss journey. With tips for challenging yourself, setting goals, and retaining/regaining that "first day" motivation, make this a book I'll return to again and again. The author has been down the weight loss road herself, and gives a perspective that cannot be matched by those who have just "studied" weight loss and not lived it for themselves. Do realize though, that this is not a diet plan: it's a plan for making yourself ready to make realistic changes in your life. As such, I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who needs a little push to start their own weight loss journey, no matter what "plan" they ultimately decide to follow.

The author also has a corresponding Facebook page, on which she personally posts & shares encouragement with readers/fans, along with challenges to keep them motivated. I highly recommend checking out the Facebook page as well.

I downloaded this book and found it to be extremely helpful. Weight loss is not a quick nor easy journey. As I get older the harder I find it to be.

The thing I liked most about this book was the author paints a very realistic picture of weight loss. This isn't another "Lose 100 pounds in One Month!" book, but instead is a true picture of where you need to start your weight loss journey. You have to get the drive and motivation first or nothing will ever come of it. You have to set realistic goals for yourself and realize that you aren't going to reach them overnight.

The first stage of setting the right mindset is indeed probably the most important one of all.

Great book and I'm definitely looking forward to continuing the series!

Losing weight is not for the faint of heart...and this book proves that. This author has given her honest, heartfelt description of her journey. I was really impressed with the information given and the fact that she finally got it all together and is succeeding. Having tried to lose weight myself, I know the challenges it presents. (and I very rarely succeed at keeping it off).

By presenting her personal challenges and setbacks, she makes me feel I really can finally at last get this done.
This is a very good book on a very important subject and should be read by anyone who wants a realistic, doable weight loss plan.

P. Seymour has lost around a hundred pounds. It doesn't seem like she has finished with her weight loss journey when she writes this, but has lost a great deal of weight. I admire her, but this isn't really the book I was personally looking for. I thought it would be more step-by-step for setting up a plan to lose weight that works best for me. It does have some of that, (though not the step-by-step I was looking for) as well as some motivational stuff and advice in the form of things that helped her or that didn't work for her.

The price was certainly reasonable, it's an easy, short read and I loved that I could get it right away on my Kindle. It was good, I think I was just looking for something a bit different.

I love and enjoy reading this book. There was very helpful information inside the book. I have learned something new things in this book.

Disappointed that it was only the persons story and not food menus or helping me create a meal plan.
The tips are things most already know - journal what you eat, how you feel, etc.
I was hoping it was going to help me "create" a meal plan based off the things I enjoy and maybe even taking some regular recipes and making them lighter or something like that. There are no recipes or any food lists.

I don't know if you've found me here because you do have 100+ pounds to lose or maybe less. Either way, I want you to know that the book series that you see below is a labor of love for me.

I've lost 120 lbs (the picture you see here) which left me feeling healthy, fit and capable of anything I set my mind to...AND my story continues as someone who found herself looking at a weight gain of almost half that weight 2.5 yrs later.

I don't want to be that person who is selling you a formula for losing weight fast and fixing your life, yet hiding behind my own weight and insecurities. I will tell you straight out that you and I are very much the same. I'm not perfect in this and I like to call myself a work-in-progress for sure.

I know what it's like to feel like giving up. I know what it's like to let the weight control our lives.

PLEASE hear me when I say that you are not alone and you REALLY can change your life.

You are fully capable and you don't need a fad diet or a fast weight loss plan.

You do need to be able to believe in yourself and you need to know that YOU can create a very realistic plan that will have you losing weight AND enjoying your life as you do so. It is possible and it's not JUST about the scale.

I hope that you will allow me to "walk with you" as you create a plan for your own success. I would love nothing more than to hear from you and celebrate your successes along the way.
