Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

This third volume in the "History of Christian Theology" series addresses the question of the relationship between science and theology. It makes no attempt to answer the question, but provides a historical overview from the early church and its views of Greco-Roman science to the mid-20th-century reaction of physicists (Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr) to the creationist tradition. Necessarily, because of the broad historical perspective covered, no topic is dealt with in-depth (each of the five chapters is approximately 50 pages). Extensive bibliographies follow each chapter. No index. Recommended for beginning students of science and religion seeking to put their studies into a basic historical context.
