Soul Evolution,
By Rebecca J. Reed "warrior student struggling f... (Hamilton and Anaconda, MT USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Creation and Metempsychosis (Evolution of the Soul) (Paperback)
A fascinating work about the evolution of the souls of mankind, Creation and Metempsychosis lays the understanding of ancient esoteric religion and the comprehension we possess of this today. The treatise is a compilation of data and is edited by Q. Dean Sloan.
Teachings of esoteric beliefs form the origin of all the world's great philosophies, mythologies and as with the Theosophical Society, exist dedicated to promoting the unity of humanity, and encouraging the study of religion, philosophy, and science. The purpose stands to better understand others along with ourselves in relationships with the multidimensional universe. An inclusion of the seven rays furthers this agenda where each individual human soul is an essential part of one of the seven rays and through successive lifetimes the qualities of that ray are developed and refined to encourage the evolution of humankind. Therefore, people of different spiritual inclinations may walk the same spiritual path united in purpose to help the world without changing their own beliefs. The rays describe the types of individual characteristics: (1) will - lots of energy and drive, (2) love - motivated by emotions to unify with the Maker, (3) form - mind manifests, (4) links - deep sense of harmony, (5) truth - great yearning to discover that in accordance with ultimate reality, (6) devotion - desire for high ideals, and (7) completion - making realities of other men's dreams. Sloan approaches the works of philosophy from the standpoint of a "scientist of spirit" and reaches beyond ordinary senses, removed from the usual processes of knowledge. Penetration into the spiritual world operates with imagination, inspiration, and intuition. As man works to understand God, he attempts first to understand himself. The development of the human being is through the expansion of awareness. One must grow to understand the dual nature of self through soul and personality. Buddha has said that we must not believe "facts" simply because they are proclaimed, but when the doctrine or saying is corroborated by our own reason and consciousness, and then to act accordingly. Metempsychosis explains the functions of the various "bodies" which encompass mind, emotions, and the soul. The causal or soul body represents the higher self; the mental/intellectual body holds understanding and beliefs; the astral or emotional body is the vehicle for emotion, desire, and imagination; the etheric container represents energy; and the physical body presents a carrier for stability and individual focus. Personality is temporary and changes with recreation in every lifetime. In this systematic writing we discover that aid exists for our evolutionary processes in the operation of angels - the electricians of the universe, mantras for aid, chakras for cleansing, and the developments of ascending where one continues to refine abilities and skills. The vast accumulated information in this most interesting work ultimately states that we are growing to express the purpose of the soul and that each of us is part of the experiential nature of Source. |
