About the Author

Norman Messenger was born and educated in Liverpool. He worked as an advertising Art Director in London before becoming a freelance illustrator. A number of his books have been published by Dorling Kindersley, including Annabel's House, Making Faces, and Once Upon a Time. Norman lives with his wife, also an artist, and their adopted cat and chicken in a small Gloucestershire village. He has two sons studying art in London.

This book tells the story of creation simply, but the illustrations are breathtakingly exquisite. They are rich in color, and resemble fine art depictions as far as I'm concerned. I've purchased additional copies so I can frame the entire book as art in my childrens' playroom. Absolutely stunning!

I was looking for a book that told the Creation Story using Scripture, but that had nice pictures. This was perfect. My five year old and my two year old love it!

When we bought this book, my boys wouldn't take their hands off it! The pictures captivated them and they spent weeks looking at it asking me to read it all the time (which I gladly did as it is amazingly interesting). No other book has held their attention like this one. My boys are 1 1/2 and 4 1/2 and both really enjoy it. Highly recommended.
