I have the neighbor's cats that use the area under my master bedroom window for their own personal litter box.. It drives me crazy! I put one of these on a 3 foot post under my window and no droppings. The whole wall is now protected. I know it works because the cats now use the other wall that is out of range of the first repeller. Now I bought another one for that wall. It can't come soon enough. Location matters. I first had the unit on a fence in the backyard. It was not proteced by rain or sun. It did not work well there and made a loud noice. Under my window it is protected from the rain and the sun and it work perfectly. Be sure you have it at least 3 feet off the ground and use quality batteries. Pros: Inexpensive and it works to keep cats away! Cons: Uses a lot of batteries. (6 C batteries)

We have an outdoor fishpond and have had problems with raccoons through the years. We can successfully trap them but now that animal control will no longer pick them up, we had to come up with a different solution. I did not expect this device to work, but we've had no raccoons since we set it up near the pond one year ago. We do bring ours into our covered patio area when rain is expected, and we had to change batteries after about 6 months. It's easy to tell if new ones are needed if the red light doesn't turn on when you push the button. By the way, a big dog also works well, but we are dog less now that we travel more.

Worked for a year and started making noise,
By Over the last year this animal repeller worked quite well at keeping the mischievous raccoons out of the yard. I bought another one and gave it to a friend with a deer problem as she lives next to parkland and it's hard to tell about the deer that haven't been around as much, but she did say the rats haven't been around her front porch anymore. I don't know how the batteries died in such a short time in the unit Canada, the ones in ours lasted at least 6 months, if not more (perhaps a year?). I'm wondering if keeping the unit out of the rain might help.

IT WORKS BUT REQUIRES A SHELTERED LOCATION,

I purchased this to keep deer and squirrels away from fruit plants and trees. It works great for large animals although it can annoy people who walk in front of it. It didn't bother my cat at all. It had an added benefit of getting rid of ants that infested my outdoor deck for years where no pesticide worked. Unfortunately, this unit needs to be in a dry/sheltered area. I want to keep dogs off my front lawn and need something I can hang on a tree or on a post. Any recommendations?

Noisy,

This unit works by making a lot of noise. I haven't really see any cat around my fish pond Yet, but it is still early. It would be nice if you could turn off the sond such as the Owl and still have the ultrasonic feature work seperately. However if you turn off the switch it turns off the complete unit.

I use this item in Orlando, and I have two cars on the outside of my house. I find that they work really well, and I am ordering two more for a friend. I have not had a cat get on my cars in two weeks. I like the fact that it shuts off automatically when not in use and comes on when an animal (cat) comes in the radius that makes it go on automatically. I place one on my trunk and one on the hood. I go one step further in I have glued 6 magnets on the bottom of the unit and placed a clear piece of tape over them, so it won't scratch the car. In this way it will stay where you put it.

We got this unit to stop the stray cats climbing on the car that we parked out of the garage. It really works. After the unit was installed, no more cat prints on the hood & on the roof of the car.

It sounded good but, like alot of stuff.......too good to be true. I placed it on my house, facing a bird feeder, about 10 feet away, maybe less, and set the frequency adjustment knob to "squirrel" setting. The first morning I watched.....they were skittish, but overcame.Thereafter, they sometimes sit on it while awaiting their turn to jump on the feeder (I have 3 who I claim as dependents on my taxes... Just kidding, Uncle.) Wouldn't recommend this item
