To keep things short this is an excellent desk. It does everything that is claimed it does. It is comfortable and simple to use. It is good for your legs (they stay cool) and it is good for the computer (it stays cool too with the fan vents not being blocked). If you spend a lot of time using your notebook computer - this little desk is a must. It even fits in my brief case so I can take it with me. Buy this desk.

I love the size and comfort of this lap desk (I have a 14" laptop and it fits perfectly). The laptop doesn't slide around, my legs are cool, and I *think* it keeps my laptop cooler.

However, I've run into two related problems. The tabs or flaps that are designed to flip up aren't sturdy enough to support the back end of the laptop. I believe the packaging actually advertised the flaps for supporting the monitor, but I rested the laptop on them for extra circulation underneath as well as a more comfortable typing angle. That did help in cooling the laptop. Unfortunately the heat from the laptop affected the edge of the flaps so they no longer are hard enough to support the laptop. The second problem, which I think is related, is that the microbeads from the squishy bottom are leaking through the openings under the flaps. It seems the manufacturer did not encase the microbeads (or mine has a tear in the plastic or whatever it is that is supposed to contain them). Because of static electricity, the microbeads are drawn out of the little openings at the flaps. If I had never lifted the flaps, maybe this wouldn't be an issue. But I did, and the microbeads seep out even though I keep the flaps down.

I might try this product again, under the assumption that the microbead issue was a fluke. But I wish the flaps were sturdier. I've even contemplated modifying this one to raise the back of the laptop and cover the flaps. Just haven't figured out the best way to do it.

I am disabled, spending my waking hours in a power wheelchair, and find this small rugged lap desk indispensable.

For me, the most important attribute of this product is its low profile. With this desk in my lap I can pull right up to any desk or table without the desk hitting anything.

The desk's ruggedness is important because I occasionally transport heavy items, like recycle bins full of newspapers.

This is a wonderful product that any wheelchair user would value.

I searched the Internet for a product like this for several years before giving up. Recently I saw it in a Staples and am now buying my second one on amazon.com.
