Great Bargain,
By Ben (New York City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Creative SBS260 Speakers (Personal Computers)
I already have a dedicated stereo system when I listen to music so all I was looking for was the cheapest available speakers for my PC, something that would play mp3s and movies at moderate volumes. The Creative SBS260 actually sounds pretty good, has a very balanced sound. Not too much bass or treble and theres actually some resemblance of a midrange. Suprisingly wide stereo effect too. Personally I wouldnt spend more for a PC speaker system unless a subwoofer was needed. For the dirt cheap price the Creative SBS260 is hard to beat.

I ordered these through Amazon (as apposed to the other, less expensive sellers) and got free shipping, so it actually comes to less money than the other "stores", and... they arrived in *2* Days! Anyway, on to the speakers... as one of the other reviewers said, I wasn't expecting much for the price but they were so cheap I figured I could afford to "experiment". I set the volume on about 1/3 capacity and plugged them in. When the Windows screen opened up, Wow! What a great, full sound. So, I lowered the volume and played some real music. It sounded a little tinny at first, so I adjusted the graphic equalizer and I can't believe how good they sound! The bass end is slightly (almost non-significantly) lacking, but the sound is so full and crisp, good midrange etc. I'm really glad I didn't get the really expensive Bose or other higher priced brand. My 12 year old daughter blew out the old speakers that we got with the computer 4 years ago, but if she does it again, for $16 I got an extra pair. For the price especially, get these for your computer. You won't be sorry!

Best Cheap Computer Speakers I Have Owned,
This review is from: Creative SBS260 Speakers (Personal Computers)
I have bought several different sets of cheap computer speakers (among these Philips and Altec Lansing), and these Creative SBS260 are the best of all of them by far. Where normally the sound of computer speakers is flat and distorted, these little wonders give a very precise and wonderfully clear sound. To boot these speakers are nice and small, and look great.
I use these speakers to watch DVDs on my computer, and the only thing I could wish for is a bigger screen: the sound quality is perfect thanks to these speakers.

My office is on the 9th floor. I tried out two different models of speakers in the $50-$100 range and was very upset by the radio static. Then I picked up this set. There's no static and beautiful sound. Good job Creative!

Great product for a great price,
This review is from: Creative SBS260 Speakers (Personal Computers)
I'm really, really happy with these speakers. For such little speakers, they're almost as loud as my home stereo and the sound quality is nearly as good. I first bought them on sale for my mom's computer, because she doesn't listen to music or watch videos, so I thought if they sounded tinny it wouldn't really matter. But I was so impressed I bought some for myself. They come with an AC adapter (they don't run on batteries), a large power button, a volume control, and a place to plug in your earphones on the front. I'm actually listening to some Benny More right now, and the bass is coming through really nice.

Ok, I am not an audiophile but for a little over $10 +SH you can't go wrong with these speakers. Look good, sound good, and capture every bit of the music I need to hear. For a laptop or desktop, this is a great buy. They also sound great using my Zen Nano....Can't go wrong...............

These speakers are great for the price.
I bought them for more sound when we watch DVDs on the laptop. They are incredible! The sound is clear with no static or buzzing or anything even on the highest setting and we have sensitive ears. They aren't Bose mind you, so don't go getting all attitude because i say they sound good as if i'm holding them up to those standards. For the price (and now i see they are five dollars less, but i had free shipping on them so i guess it's the same) you can't beat them and Creative is just that... maker of something distinct.

Perfect plain ole' speakers.,

So, I got a brand new computer this past Christmas with a new monitor and all that fun stuff. The monitor is absolutly beautiful... buuut, unfortunately, the teeny speakers embedded withem them were about the size of a triskit and produced worse sound than one of those old school radios people listened to back in the 1920s.
After just buying a $1300 computer, I definately diddn't have enough money to go all out on speakers. Besides, I wasn't looking for anything special anyway. I wasn't looking to blast my jams or anything like that. I just wanted clear sound for an affordable price. By golly is this just what I was looking for. For no more than $15, I got these bad boys and have been happy with them since. Absolutely no complaints. The sound is clear, and can actually go up to a decent volume until they get alittle distorted. Now, of course there are better computer speakers out there... but I promise you, you will not find better speakers for this price. Creative is very reliable when it comes to the music products, and this is no exception. It's a definate buy if your just looking for something to play sound and music for your computer and aren't looking for anything fancy. They certainly beat any kind of speakers attached to a monitor.

Decent Speakers For the Price, Can't Hit Those Low Notes,
By
This review is from: Creative SBS260 Speakers (Personal Computers)
Recently, my Altec Lansing $20 cheap speakers conked out after 2 years. I had really enjoyed them for the price so I figured another set of cheap ones would work. I stumbled upon these and figured they were a good choice after reading the reviews. The major pro is the price, point blank. Easy to set up, and they were dirt cheap.
However, if I were to do it all again, I would have dropped another few bucks. The major flaw is the low frequencies. It doesn't hit them and have the power to make them sound good. My old speakers had a tone nob which would have really helped these speakers. In addition, they feel really cheap. They don't seem like they will hold up in the long run, but time will tell on that one. Overall, you might do well to drop a few more bucks if you want listen to any music with any amount of bass.

These are the best $10.00 speakers on the market. I have them on about 10 hours everyday and not a flaw.
