Does this charge faster than a USB port? Oh yeah, much faster. Less than half the time really. Audiobooks are my thing so a full charge is neccessary. I have a 2.0 USB port of the front of my PC (which Creative says is what you need to fully communicate and charge your Zen) still it takes anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to charge from a USB port and about an hour and a half to two hours on house current, quite a bit longer in the car.

The "things to know" part though, is don't leave your charger plugged in when you finish charging your unit. I don't know why but when you do and then try to recharge your Zen it will stop charging and the screen will start flashing. Also it won't take a charge if the it's in the locked position. It's best to start charging with the unit turned off.

It doesn't show it's fully charged while it's plugged into the charger (don't know why) but after it's charged and I plug it back into the USB port to download something the fully charged icon will be showing.

I'm pleased with with this charger, it has a few more parts than I really need, but it does the job.

Great product it gives me the options to charge my player many different ways and I won't be without my music when needed!Also it was a great buy since most stores didn't have or knew what I needed for my player. They wanted to sell me something that wouldn't serve my needs. I'm very pleased this site could help me in my time of need!!!!!

i picked up the universal power adapter as part of a larger purchase, and I'm glad I did - all the different country plugs will be very useful when travelling, they are easily interchangeable, and it even comes with a mini-USB adapter - exactly what was needed to charge up my new Creative Zen MP3 player.

This power adapter seemed rather pricey however, it has a variety of plugs and it works very well with my creative zen mp3 player.

I have a zen microphoto and thus the regular power adapter wouldn't work for my mp3 player. This one works great and charges much faster than the USB one that came with the player. I certainly did not need all of the connectors though and I don't like how bulky this power adapter is. My brother said he just uses his cell phone charger that happens to have the same plug in. Something to think about before you buy.

Did not keep item as the player that I purchased with it was not working right with my computer.
