This is a "mini" book that has some good ideas. The book is divided into separate parts, but each part is written by a different person. I enjoyed the parts that were written by Elizabeth, especially the part about the treasure map. I also enjoyed other things she had to say about the subconscious, affirmations, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring! Insightful Keys To Abundance, June 9, 2006
This review is from: Creative Abundance: Keys to Spiritual and Material Prosperity (Pocket Guides to Practical Spirituality) (Paperback)
I can't help myself: I've been reading more and more by authors Elizabeth and Mark Prophet. In this short but awe inspiring pocket volume, the Prophets help their readers come to an understanding of what it means to be truly abundant. That is: trusting that there is no other source of what we need other than what the universe provides.

This book has helped me change my perspective about what it means to attain abundance and wealth. I love this book because it is small enough to fit into my pocket, yet offers life altering insight:

"We should always begin our experiments in abundance by creating and then repeatedly visualizing a blueprint of exactly what we want to see happen in our lives. 'Visualization is important,' says Saint Germain. 'Without it nothing shall appear.'
'If you wish more vitality, you must visualize yourself already having that vitality-your muscles rippling with God's energy, your mind brimming with vital ideas, tingling with life and light and love.'"

Enough said. Read and reap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinay Little Book, February 16, 2008
This review is from: Creative Abundance: Keys to Spiritual and Material Prosperity (Pocket Guides to Practical Spirituality) (Paperback)
Need I say more? For years I was a curmudgeon about affirmations. I thought they were absolutely ridiculous. This little book was the exact medicine for this weary traveler literally sick over worrying about finances. I have no more financial problems or worry. These affirmations--along with those from "Violet Ray to Heal Body, Mind, and Soul"--have the tools to eradicate worry and allow abundance to flow. Hurray!

I love this little (and it is small) book, it is nice to have anywhere because of it's size, and the affirmations and information are very good. Lot's of affirmations, so you can choose the ones you feel comfortable with. Am buying one for a friends Birthday gift.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some parts were good, March 10, 2011
This review is from: Creative Abundance: Keys to Spiritual and Material Prosperity (Pocket Guides to Practical Spirituality) (Paperback)
This is a "mini" book that has some good ideas. The book is divided into separate parts, but each part is written by a different person. I enjoyed the parts that were written by Elizabeth, especially the part about the treasure map. I also enjoyed other things she had to say about the subconscious, affirmations, etc.

The part that I did not really like was the "9 Steps to Precipitation" by St. Germain. I just was not expecting these ideas from St. Germain, I wanted general ideas about abundance, not teachings from a specific saint. So I basically disregarded this whole chapter because it didn't interest me at all. The last part, which was written by Mark Prophet, had some good ideas about prosperity. One thing I didn't like about this teaching was calling upon Fortuna. I have no interest in "calling upon" anyone and I found this weird. I also did not like the way both authors referred to "I AM." They talk about how Jesus referred to this "I AM," but each time they quote Jesus they don't have a source, so I am left wondering about their credibility. They also use it in a way that is grammatically incorrect and I can't help but be bothered by it. It just seemed like their use of I AM was overkill and doesn't seem necessary to me to connect to the source, but they act like it has special powers or something. The part about violet flame and all that seemed weird too, I have no idea whether it works or not.

I'm glad I bought this book, if only for the treasure map information.

3.0 out of 5 stars good and bad, January 25, 2011

This review is from: Creative Abundance: Keys to Spiritual and Material Prosperity (Pocket Guides to Practical Spirituality) (Paperback)
You know, I used to read these books and I think it has it's positive and negative. The positive is, they are emotional and moral truths here - getting a picture of how you want things to go, planning, figuring out different scenarios and trying to use a type of mental and emotional strength to inspire real world events. There's a negative side, though. Women like to read these especially, I think, and sometimes we're not doing ourselves any favors. While there's some truth to making yourself attractive to abundance and getting the right mental attitude, setting your goals, and developing enthusiasm... all helps with your real world efforts. However, meditating and visualizing on it's own won't get you anywhere and it won't necessarily do anything for you in a world that may ignore your positive thinking entirely. I used to read far out meditation books - like if you visualized a healthy animal, it would heal etc... I suppose it could work if we were in a matrix or network and your meditation inspired others to help you with your goal-oriented thinking. If they don't do something along with you, it doesn't really work.

It's just that I've found out over the years that meditation does not always solve problems and can actually put you in danger, This is because these books give you the false illusion you have control that you don't really have. If you meditate say.... escaping an abusive situation etc.... (I've actually read books like this along with meditation "healing" techniques) you might not take the necessary action to get away. I meditated with those healing books when a pet I cared about was dying, after the vet tried everything, and the creature I loved still got sick and died. I've also meditated for money, abundance, and a positive environment and got none of it. In fact, people stole from me, abused me and further made my life miserable. It's sometimes a very aggressive, abusive, world out there and positive thinking alone can make you not have the instincts or real world connection you need to make survival decisions. Meditating getting yourself out a desperate situation not only does not work, but it immobilizes you. How many people have cried out to a god for love, or thought that faith alone would get them through some situation and still were abused and suffered greatly? Many. All soldiers on the battlefield cry out to imaginary beings to save them from their fate - they still suffer and die. You have to do what you can to save yourself - and you have to show up for others, because the imaginary beings won't. I believe faith and emotional intelligence only works within the laws of nature - we are the solutions we seek. I think learning these laws would help women more than this stuff. One thing I will say though, the emotional intelligence some of these books gave me - helped keep me from despairing and the positive thinking gave me a bit of an edge in keeping my spirits up. The goal-setting gave me hope for finding a way in the future and it did teach me some ways to deal in relationships. It's just the meditation ALONE didn't do it. Sports athletes do use visualization, and your emotions and belief are connected to your ability to function and achieve. It's just that you also need medicine, knowledge and other things to function.

I guess I've learned we live in a mechanical - and often cruel - universe, and we need to study and work to fix things. If there is magic, it is in the practical application of natural laws - inventions are so amazing they are like magic. I often think having a box that tells us stories in beautiful color in our living rooms - a tv - is a truly magical thing. Or our electrical lights - flip a switch - magic! So I think these books are best used in harmony with science and logic. Imagination is the first step to science - learning about the tech aspect of it is very important for women, more and more girls need to learn practical, real world applications, It will be far more valuable and you will be less vulnerable in a hostile place. Politics, Geography, Science, Mathematics, Social skills, Defense applications and human rights would've benefited me more than this and would do the same for most of us. I still use the techniques for inspiration, but I'm adding to it now.
