It is a set of 4 with a 5 inch rise.

Also, the 5" one gets pretty big at the base and sticks out from under the dust ruffle, which isn't very attractive (and is a toe-stubbing hazard).

This worked perfectly because I could decide which height to use.

I have a nice bed, but I kept wishing it was a little higher: that way I can fit lots of odds n' ends under the bed, besides I like a higher bed. My wife and I looked around in stores,to no avail. Then she said "why not look online?" So I went right to Amazon and found these in the Bed accessories. I checked a lot of them, but these bed risers have a great rating, along with the fact that you can lift your bed with these risers to three different heights - 3" 5" or 8" higher. We went with the 5" lift, and love it. After reading up on how some of the others bed risers break,or don't last long. I've been checking every now and then, They are solid! My wife and I have never had a problem whatsoever! Also as usual, Amazon had the best price on bed risers; I ordered them and three days later they were at my doorstep. If you need bed risers, these are the best!

After just a few months, 2 of the 4 risers have broken.

They are used on a small child's bed, but they broke when an adult (180 lb or less) sat on the bed. Each broke at a different time, with a different person sitting down. (While they were sitting - not bouncing, etc.)

We have laminate in this bedroom, and the risers do slide on the floor.
Also, the 5" one gets pretty big at the base and sticks out from under the dust ruffle, which isn't very attractive (and is a toe-stubbing hazard). The 3" are better in this regard.

Update 7/4/13 - All 4 of the 5" ones have now broken, 1 by 1. The 3" ones are still fine. I should note that the ones that broke had small posts from the bed frame on them, so the load was bit more concentrated. The bed on the 3" risers has wheels that fit fine in the recess at the top, although they can roll/slide slightly.

I bought these after my queen size bed frame crashed through one of the risers I purchased at Target. That experience nearly scared me off risers altogether: I was convinced that I had also broken the bed frame (which is ancient and ugly but mostly functional: just a metal frame with four wheels and one cross bar), and possibly the mattress. Fortunately, everything was ok once we pried the old riser off the wheel. I junked those and bought these to replace them, because I have under the bed storage containers that won't fit without risers, and because the bed looks so much nicer up high.

I didn't dare use both the pyramids (the bigger you are, the harder you fall) but the short one was too short, so I went for just the largest riser. My boyfriend lifted the bed up (on the long side) while I stuck two risers in position, then we raced to the other side and repeated. Ideally you would have three people for this job: two to hold up the bed and one to stick the risers in place, so that you don't stress out your bedframe by resting it at an awkward angle. This is more of a concern if you have a crappy frame like mine, or a super-expensive one that you can't afford to break. The risers have been in place for about six weeks. When I change the sheets every week I always check to make sure the wheels are centered in the middle of the riser, and that the riser hasn't shifted at all on the rug. A few times I have pushed things back into place, but so far nothing has happened.

The bad: Sometimes if I lean against the bed or sit on one side of it, everything creaks ominously and I can't get out of there fast enough. If my boyfriend gets into the bed too quickly without my counterweight, more ominous creaks.

I've been using these tall risers for about 6 months now and they've been great. Needed some more space so I figured that under the bed was a good option. Other reviews mentioned the risers breaking after a short while. I have my twin bed on there and I'm about 160 and haven't had a problem at all. Definitely a good choice for me!

Not much you can say other than they work exactly as advertised. They stack two high if you want, but I did not need that much height, so I'm saving the four I did not use for the next bed. It is so great being able to utilize the space under the bed. I can't imagine why you would be disappointed in these.

Used the five inch riser. After comments about breaking I was extremely careful to centralize the bed legs in the riser.
3 months in they are working perfectly.
