I buy a lot of art and craft books and this one is already one of my favorites. It's beautifully put together, with brightly colored and decorated pages and good ideas for using your artwork to wear or display. The part I like best is that there are spaces in the book for you to try the designs she's teaching you, but it's too nice to call it a "work book." If you're a fan of the Zentangle books, you'll love this one. If you're just a casual doodler, this is the next step to making your doodles more than just random marks on paper. Highly recommended!

First of all, let me say that I make many purchases from Amazon. Rarely, however, do I actually review a book or product. This book is wonderful. There is not another book of this type out there. It not only helps with creativity, but it gives you space to practice. I love all the different exercises given to help spark your imagination. If you like to doodle, zentangle, etc. this one is worth the money. I'm really hoping that there are other books coming from this author/artist.

I dabble in several crafts, but so many require hundreds of dollars of materials to create a simple project. Doodling requires something to draw with and something to draw on. Corfee gives practical, fun, and easy to replicate tips about how to create doodles that represent your style. The book has space to practice the techniques she demonstrates. You'll find nine projects using various mediums (wood, paper, paint, fabric, etc), but all the ideas work with paper and pen. If you are an dabbler like me or an experienced artist like a few of my friends, then you will find inspiration in these pages.

The book is perfect for any age. If you buy one as a gift, buy one for yourself too. Creative Doodling & Beyond is beautifully made, right down to the rounded corners.

This book is great for inspiring a beginning doodler. It has interesting prompts and a few fun project ideas. However, half the pages in the book are left blank to practice your doodles, which seems like a waste of space and lends to the perception that the book offers more information than it actually does. Also, I did think a few of the projects were actually a bit ugly, but others may have different ideas about this. Finally, one of the reasons I ordered this book was because I browsed Corfee's website first. She had quite a few fun painting/doodling art pieces featured and I was interested in creating something using similar techniques; unfortunately, these (perhaps more advanced?) techniques were not to be found in the book.

Even with many pages left blank for practicing, this is still a pretty good sized book with lots of material. There is a lot more here than in the thin little zentangle books. (The zentangle books are good, just a little thin for the price.)

It is a really beautiful book. It is fun to look through.

I like having the blank practice space in the book. I enjoy going through the book practicing all the doodles, it is very relaxing. I find myself more likely to practice as opposed to other books I have where I have to get out a separate piece of paper to doodle with.

Once I have practiced the doodles, I find myself incorporating many of the elements into my own doodles. Since using the book, I find myself doing many new designs in doodling and not just things in the book. It is like the doodles in the book are sparking off new doodle ideas in my head.
I enjoy the author's style of doodling. It is very loose and casual and freeform. It feels more spontaneous than the zentangles style of doodling. With a few exceptions, such as the portrait doodles, I did not feel that I needed to work on my artistic skills before I could do them.

I did not care for the projects. Most of them seemed to be geared toward a parent with young children. I was a bit puzzled that the purse project called for doodling on paper, scanning your doodle, printing it out on an iron on sheet, ironing it on the project and then coloring in with fabric markers. It seemed needlessly complex. Why not just doodle directly on the project with fabric markers?

I was disappointed that doodling on abstract painting was only presented as an idea and not done out in detail. This is the techniques used to create the amazing cover of the book.

I went to the bookstore looking specifically for a book, ANY book, on doodling. I found nothing that fit the bill like this book did. I looked through quite a few books before deciding on this one. I love the artwork, I like the layout, and I find the projects fun and stimulating.

There is plenty of room to try your own doodles, and Stephanie's doodles are not intimidating, by any means. There are some that are so simple that you want to say "Oh, I can do that -- I just didn't know it would look so cool!" I have been developing more confidence in my own personal doodling style, and I am beginning to see doodle fodder everywhere I look.

This book is not just for doodling -- I am finding a lot of artistic inspiration in it, as well! I highly recommend it!

I bought this book just after Christmas. It caught my eye in the craft section and once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. I've always been a doodler. In meetings, on the phone. My notebooks and (paper) mouse pad are always covered in scribbles.

This book gave some new ideas on how to doodle in a different direction. I tend to draw the same things over and over. The prompts and exercises in the book are excellent and I've already seen an improvement in my drawings just from reading through the book! It also provides plenty of space to practice new doodles right there next to the exercises.

The author also shares how you can make doodles that are artful and interesting - enough so that you could hang them in your house. I love this idea!

If you like to doodle and want to do more, or if you just want to learn some techniques on how to get started, this book is for you. The drawings are colorful and vibrant. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. And it's FUN!
