This book is great. I am a recent graduate bench jeweler, and I wish we would have had this book as a textbook. The descriptions and instructions are very detailed and easy to understand. It gives you specifics and also encourages you to be creative. I learn more each time I pick it up.

A friend in my jewelry class loaned me a copy of this book, and it was so good I had to go find my own copy. I own several books on jewelry making, and this is the best one I've found. It goes into lots of detail on topics that most books just gloss over. For example, there is an entire chapter on files and filing. If you have ever tried to buy your own tools/supplies as a beginner, a lot of the terminology and options can be confusing. The info in this book will help with that.

For a newbie, or someone that really wants to master their craft, this book is perfect. Not because it dumbs everything down, but because it explains a lot of things and goes into detail that other books leave out. It doesn't matter that the book was written in 1970 - the information is still relevant and useful.

I had seen the book with a friend and loved it. I wanted to have the book myself and was lucky to find it so quickly! The book arrived also in good order and amazingly quick. Great book, great writer, great silversmith!
