This product does not work well at all. It's okay for printing cards but it would be cheaper to buy a card from the store. Sending the card by email creates fuzzy graphics, your inserted text does not show, and high quality jpeg photo files results in a blocky appearance when sent by email. (The same card printed well so it wasn't a problem with the jpeg photo.) There are not enough selections of cards, clip art, or music files to warrant the cost. There is no way to reach customer support by email. I tried to return the product to Hallmark but had clipped off the UPC for a rebate even though I had not sent it in, it made it uneligible for return.

Excellent software application, smooth installation, very flexible, high quality you would expect from Hallmark. Lots of clip art and high-quality fonts.

I noticed two glaring omissions from the product: there are no pre-defined Christmas gift tag designs, although designs exist for other occasions; and there are no pre-defined sympathy cards. Yes, you can design your own, but since Hallmark omitted sympathy phrases from its library of "sentiments," and included precious little appropriate clip art, it is much easier to simply buy a card from the store, which is what I wanted to avoid by buying this software.

Overall the product works as advertised, however, I did uncover one bug the first time I used it. I called Hallmark and found out they have a software bug in the "email" feature. You cannot email a card with color text added, all text must be black. I have used previous versions of card studio and this is slightly improved, but I wouldn't give it a "Wow" rating.

Program install does not seem to work with VISTA operating system. After install, I openned a card. The text did not appear as it did in the preview. The letters overlap or are missing entirely from the card. When you go to their on line support for FAQ they indicate a 29 step procedure to fix the problem. The problem with the solution is that it is meant for their 2008 version. There is not a solution posted for the 2009 version. The 2008 solution does not work. It indicates that I have to find a "Fonts cab" folder. It is no where to be found on the DVD.

Today I sent Hallmark an email requesting the solution for this problem. This is very disappointing and I will want to return the software if the issue cannot be fixed.

Hallmark Card Studios are excellent programs for creating greeting cards, however, if you have purchased one, it is basically a waste of money to buy the newest versions as they use the same cards over and over and over and add just a few to each new program.

Hallmark Card Studio 2009 is an easy to use program for those looking to create personalized professional looking home printed cards and more. After installing the program I went to make a card from my children to my mother who has been named "Mana" by the kids. As you can imagine, there are not any card stores on the market that include the word "Mana" as a "to" person. Now thanks to Hallmark Card Studio 2009 giving cards to those outside the cannon of the typical card "to whoms" are now able to receive a card tailored specifically to them.


With in five minutes of opening the program I had my card ready to print. The ease of use of this program is fantastic. I can't imagine any easier program. I never really read the package on what this program can do, so to my surprise there are many other easy to use functions of this program. You can make anything from calendars to gift tags. And the ease with which you can make them is astounding. With in five minutes you can not only make a card, but also make a calendar, gift tag, announcement, etc. You can insert your own photos or clipart to truly personalize your creation.


Another unexpected feature of this program is the child lock to prevent your child from using any part of the program you may feel is not proper for you child to view.


All in all this is an excellent program. With it you or anyone in your family can create cards and such with literally the click of a button. I highly recommend purchasing this item for all your stationary needs.

Years ago I started making my own greeting cards but outdated software would not work on a newer computer. Since I am on a fixed income, I could not affoed the prices asked to update my software. It has been a bit of a challenge for a 78 year old woman to use this new Hallmark edition. However each time I work with it I can understand more of what is expected. I am now making what I feel are lovely original greeting cards. It was a very good purchase.

The software was very easy to install for someone who normally relies on her "computer literate" hubby and the manuals were very easy to read and very helpful.

When I was working with photos, they were crystal clear, but when I sent them and opened them in my email to view them, they seemed to be a bit fuzzy (but that might just be because of sending them). I have not printed anything out yet.

I am having fun creating cards - now no more excuses for late or no birthday cards/anniversaries. Plus I can custom make them with photographs!

Bought this thinking it was a good product, but on using it you can only use 1/2 of it. E-mailing is a total bust. Neither Hallmark nor Creative Home will not give me an answer. I have Vista and it is not compatable with this. I have checked with my ISP and HP make of the computer and they both say it is Hallmark that is at fault. We can't get any answers from Hallmark or Creative Home. Guess they don't stand behind the product they put their name on. So much for Hallmark being the Cadillac of cards!

I make all our greeting cards and prior to purchasing this program I was using a program that came with our computer...Microsoft Home Publishing...unfortunately I had to buy a new computer which came with Vista. So that meant I had to buy a new card making program and I chose this one. I am unhappy with the Clip Art. I was making a card for my 3 year old grandson and had to go online to find a picture of a dinosaur because the program didn't have one. A DINOSAUR!!! The clip art quality seems cartoonish. I usually add my own sentiment, and it's a good thing because the ones that are supplied are lame. It's hard to work with the text because you can't just select one word to change (color, bold, etc.) Just not happy with this. I just ordered another program from Greeting Card Factory and am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be happier with it.
