I've waited over a year for the availability of this bowl, mostly because I am tired of flimsy wicker bowls and wooden bananna tree holders. This seemed like the perfect solution...until I took it out of the box and saw the finish. It looks like iron bars, grey with black, not as pictured with an antique-like brown finish. The color completley throws off the Tuscan look I wanted. This item correctly should be called "distressed chrome" , Atique IRON or Pewter. Judging by the photo, it looked antique bronze. Of course, the old standard disclaimer applies-all computer monitors differ, so be wary of ordering anything if you are going by the photo. Email the company directly for more photos. Lesson learned here.

"Antique plated finish"

I purchased the Renaissance Banana Tree/Fruit Basket as a birthday gift for my sister. The package arrived at my door sooner than expected, which was good because I ordered late and was afraid it would not come in time for her birthday.

I am so pleased with the product. It is very rich looking and very sturdy. The bowl holds quite a bit of fruit and the banana tree is sturdy enough to hold a whole bunch of bananas.

The basket arrived as described on the website. I am always leary of making purchases without being able to see an item hands-on. This basket was even more beautiful and sturdy than I had expected! It is a quality peice and I am excited to see it full of fruit on my countertop.

This fruit bowl/basket is quite beautiful looking, but has one major drawback - the openings near the top of the bowl are too large for most average size fruit! Lemons, limes, plums, peaches are all too small, and they fall right out. Even medium size apples and tangerines are too small. You either need to buy only large fruits, or this needs to be modified in some fashion. The picture is quite deceptive - do not rely on it.

While it was bigger than we visualized from the description, it turned out to be perfect for our needs. A previous banana tree/fruit basket was unstable when the basket was empty and it had a full bunch of bananas hanging from it. This unit is very stable and also beautiful with it's dark bronze finish.

Only 4 stars because the side holes are so large that smaller apples and tangerines fall right through. It is an incredible value for the money, though!

Love this product, as it is very space efficient and still holds a large amount of fruit. Looks as good as it is practical.

I received this item promptly after I ordered it...I think about 3-4 days. It was a great size and it is heavy, which is wonderful for bananas. The items feels very sturdy, which I really wanted. What I did not count on was the side holes being so big that it won't fit my heirloom tomatoes (which are larger than the general supermarket tomatoes), the brown onions, apples, peaches, or limes I have...so basically I'll have to find new fruit to get to put into the basket.. Or rather, I'm using mesh bags or being very careful to make sure the fruit won't roll out...which unfortunately, defeats the look of the basket. I have no clue which apples they've got in there, but my farmers' market Fujis roll out. I suppose the baking potatoes might stay in there if they're standing up...actually I think I have to line the inside somehow or the basket won't look as good as it ought to look.

I am impressed with this Renaissance Banana Tree/Fruit Basket. It is completely stable, aesthetic, practical, rich looking, and a great value.

I have to be creative on how I place the fruits in the bowl as the smaller ones do tend to fall out. Also, I didn't measure the space between my kitchen counter tops and cabinets before I ordered, which is where I wanted it to go, so I ended up putting it on the kitchen island--where it looks great!

I could not find a banana tree locally so I started looking on line. When I found this product it looked nice and fit what I was looking for. When it arrived I was more than pleased. The quality is excellent. The price was great and the delivery very timely.
