5.0 out of 5 stars I like it
It has a sort of "muffled" whistle, which is great for me because the sound isn't ear-piercing. Overall, this teapot is everything I could ask for in a teapot. It IS:
-short and stout
-has handle and spout
-lets me tip it over and pour tea out

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice to look at.
It looks great on my stove. It boils water. I can barely hear the whistle.
The first teapot I received was defective, the spout top coming off immediately.
That part is not well crafted, it's quite loose, which accounts for the whistling problem. Well, it boils the water, but it didn't exactly serve the purpose for which I bought it-the whistle.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gem of a Tea Kettle!, July 12, 2009
This cheery tea kettle has it all..It's well made, easy to fill and doesn't drip or splatter as long as it's not overfilled. The price was reasonable and the photo doesn't do it justice. I ordered the cranberry and it is just beautiful! Each time I walk into my kitchen and see it sitting there on my stove, it makes me smile. I have also had guests remark on what a beautiful kettle it is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, not durable, October 1, 2010

I've owned this kettle for several months. The metal is very thin and the pretty colored lacquer has peeled almost completely off. It is extremely easy to scratch it off and the slightest ding damages the kettle permanently. I did like how soft the whistle was, and appreciated how it looked before the coating peeled away. But I already need to go buy a replacement and that makes this purchase a total waste. I suspect some people are writing reviews before seeing how long the thing actually lasts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Poor Quality Tea Kettle, September 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The product states: High Quality Stainless Steel. False!

After a few weeks use, the inside starts to have rusty spots. Worse still, the boiled water comes out with small black debris. When I wiped the inside with a paper towel - black stains! I suspect the substance might be harmful to my health. Extremely disappointed. False product description. What a shame!

1.0 out of 5 stars It rusts!, January 17, 2011

This one is pretty on the outside and is cute on your stove but..... it rusts! You would not think of having to read the instruction sheet for a pot that boils water on your stove. But after mine started to ruse (inside), I looked at the little flyer that came with it and saw that they don't want you to leave water in it between uses because the pot would rust! Hilarious. I wonder if my boat has to stay out of the water too?

I would rate this kettle zero but 1 is the lowest available.

Save your money and buy a tried and true stainless steel kettle with the copper bottom from Revereware. My mom has one that she has used for 40+ years. Read your manuals and listen to your mother! :)

1.0 out of 5 stars Rusted within a couple days, September 30, 2010
Like other reviewers, I try to remember emptying the water out after each use. One day I forgot and it rusted the inside so bad that I had to get rid of it. It's cheap but definitely not worth the trouble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice teapot. Soft whistle, June 29, 2009

This is a beautiful little teapot! It seems to be well made and I love the cranberry metallic color. It has a very pleasant soft whistle, unlike my last tea kettle which could wake the dead!

I try to remember to empty the pot when I am done, but sometimes I forget and it rusted within about a month. Don't waste your money.
