The Creative Inspire 245 speakers are a great buy. It would be hard to find better for the price. I replaced a set that cost twice as much and were not as good. Small speakers with BIG sound. A transformer is built in, they plug directly into a 110 Volt outlet. Highly recommend!

The speakers work really well. They provide better sound than most other speakers within that price range that I've gotten for my laptop. They're a good buy!

If you really wish to spend under $20 on speakers, get these. You cannot expect much bass response for this size and price of speaker. But you won't be disappointed. These offer a lot of volume and clarity for the price. I'm glad I bought them.

The speakers are small enough to fit on any desk. Both are connected by a ~6' cable, which can be problematic for people with large desks. The left speaker has the power cable, which is also ~6' long. As long as your desk is near an outlet, you should be fine. The sound quality is good for the price. There is a low buzz heard at high volumes, although this is probably because of my computer and not the speakers. Like most speakers, these ones start to go a little haywire if you crank them all the way up (not good for metal fans D:). As long as you're not a acoustician, the sound should be good enough for you. These speakers come at a great price, after all.

Sound Quality OK...toxic smell,

The sound quality is decent for the cheap price, and the volume does get loud (although with a little bit worse quality when loud). The speakers have a strong toxic smell (from the cloth covers) that does not go away.

Cheap in price but not sound.,

As one other reviewer mentioned, I too am amazed at the sound of these speakers. Bose couldn't match the sound of Creative Labs Inspire 245 2.0 Speakers at this price point. I once paid over $30 for a 2.1 Logitech system that didn't sound as good as these 2.0 "cheapies". Most of the problems with sound on these speakers and many others reviewed are from people who are clueless about audio in general and by some who think they know all about sound because they own an ultra-expensive audiophile system. I have been involved with sound from a very young age, by selling, installing and maintaining audio equipment, up to the professional use of same equipment as a DJ and KJ. If you are hearing distortion then you are over-driving them, most likely from the source, your media player. If you send a highly distorted signal to your speakers you will destroy them. If you have realtec audio hardware with windows 7, and use windows media player, you have two controls the media player and speakers. Keep windows media player at about 25 and speakers at about 70 or lower, then set the speakers to your liking. The speakers have a fuller sound than you would expect for something their size, weight and price. You would be hard pressed to find a better 2.0 or 2.1 speaker system for twice the price. I highly recommend this system to anyone on a limited budget, and wants the most bang for their buck.

I received these speakers when I purchaced a new desktop PC that is now G O N E. I thought they were underwhelming, untill I started trying to replace them with a 2.1 system that beats them. Dell 2.1 speakers don't come close. Sure there is not any woofer to give the boom boom, but the clarity in the midrange is superb, and they deliver alot of volume for such small things.

Creative 245 PC Speakers.........for this price you can't go wrong!,

I have recently bought a set of these for my laptop. These are ridiculously cheap speakers let's be honest, so dont expect any low end bass, it's not gonna happen, however they can provide some mid bass and listening to some trance and garage tracks was actually acceptable IF you keep in mind the type of speakers you are listening to and the money you paid for them. Surprisingly they are super efficient and go very loud.....no really, they do!If you listen mainly to vocal and do not really require low end bass you will like these, they do portray a deep voice very well and are not terrible with a movie either, The Fox and the Child was awesome but Terminator Salvation maybe not!! To summarise; I am about to upgrade to the Microlab X2 system which is 2.1 and only available in SE Asia, I wanted some low end bass in a compact package and now have that, however I will not be getting rid of my 245's they are great little speakers and I am listening to Enigma on them right now as I type this review and I kid you not, they really are loud. Definitely worth having. In case you are interested, the 2 speakers are joined permanently together by a 6ft thin black speaker cable, the right hand speaker houses a push button on/off switch and rotary volume control on it's right hand side with an orange on light. The right hand speaker at the rear has the power cord plug which detaches and another permanently attached cable terminated with a 3.5mm plug for your media player. The wall plug is also the transformer and is a bit too heavy to be hanging off a wall mounted socket considering it has only 2 pins to secure it? coincidentally mine is! so I should probably move it to a floor outlet before it falls out.

Creative Labs is a good brand. Its sound quality is good. On the back of each there is a bass port. So the bass is definitely not that bad as many people say. Bear in mind that this is a 2.0 speakers. If you pursue very strong bass, you should consider 2.1 speakers. It is magnetically shielded, but not very well shielded. Overall the sound quality is good and the product is reasonably fine work. I prefer it to SPA3250 and BXR1220, disregarding the portability. The price is good. I think T10 produces a better sound quality but the price is more than doubled.
